Battotai, also known as the Japanese Army Branch March (抜刀隊, Battō-tai or 陸軍分列行進曲 Rikugun bunretsu kōshinkyoku) is a Japanese March composed in the 1880s by Charles Leroux and published in 1912, and is used by the Japanese Army, Police and formerly the Imperial Army of Japan.
During the fierce Battle of Tabaruzaka the Imperial Government pulled an unexpected move, and initiated hand-to-hand combat. The name derives from the Sword-Wielding Troops (or Battotai) units that were used during the engagement.

Fuso-class is a very old battleship model, Pre-WWI Dreadnoughts. Not quite as old as the pre-dreadnought ships of the Russo-Japanese War, though! Like the Kongo-class ships, the Fuso ships received a refit in the 1930s. Though I’d say the Kongo ships got a better treatment than Fuso, which just spent the war loitering around the Aleutians.

Smartest monarchist be like 50 million Asian deaths is definitely over exaggerating(unless you read Chinese books), but it's still stupid for them to do so. Killing civilians, ignoring treaties and agreements and unprovoked attacks is NOT protecting the emperor. If they committed war crimes for literally no reason at all besides doing it for fun, then they deserved to be abolished and be modernized like this. As much as I love the old navy, I still do not tolerate any atrocities made by the IJAF in the past. Sure, some of them may not like what Japan is like right now (probably not much for the "Anime" aspects), but the time has passed and the samurais could say the same for 20th century Japanese soldiers as well.

They did indeed know they were doomed. It was a suicide mission after all. The mission was to beach the Yamato on Okinawa and use it as a large onshore battery until the guns on the turrets stopped working, then, the entire ship would be abandoned and everything valuable taken with them.
