I love how the rap just fucking stops. No closure, no ending, bombastic free-style verse to end it. The music just stops dead and they continue on with their conversation like he didn't just have an epileptic seizure
Its little comments like this that make me think: 4.3 billion years of evolution to become computer wielding ape and leave a little trinket like this to brighten someones day. Never stop and thank you.
Now for a few million years to pass, humanity to actually go extinct, and a new sentient race to discover the internet still intact after all that time (perhaps preserved in some way by sheer coincidence). And one of them seeing this comment, and commenting about how it's aged.
@@dextynlabelle9326 I also noticed the mention of cosmetics, which could mean he was tested on for something as trivial as makeup, which totally does happen.
I actually did not know that I watched this movie countless times as a kid. You learn something new every day. That really shines a light on how traumatized he is.
Fun Fact: The animation during the song was actually digitally painted. I learned that from the making of the film. Generally it's always fun to watch the behind the scene stuff for any movie because you get to learn a lot about each of the films we all love.
True, but some scenes of the movie were hand-painted onto cels. Another fun fact, the director and animation studio behind the film is the same studio that did the computer animation in Tron (1982). A few years later in 1988, Bill Kroyer and his team would create the Academy Award winning short, Technological Threat (1988)
***** It's a play on words; he is describing his type of bat specie (called Pterodidae), which is spelled as if you're saying "pte-ro-did-i". Hence the opposition and irony in "pte-ro-didn't-i".
I _love_ how so many of his child-friendly films have suggestive jokes, since he brilliantly ad libbed almost everything! Then decades later, I finally know what the hell was talking about and I laugh even harder. Mrs. Doubtfire, especially, when he’s trolling Pierce Bronson in the restaurant! Omg I gotta watch that scene again.
I'm sure this is going to sound stupid but I don't understand what you that means would you please explain to me what it means because now you've piqued my curiosity
Corny? Go look up the uncensored version. It's extremely graphic. Even the part actually put in the film is borderline if you listen to the lyrics. "I've been brain-fried, electrified, infected and injectified, vivosectified and fed pesticides..." "They used and abused me, Battered and bruised me, Red wires green wires stuck em' right through me." And this is what they could get away with.
Deadpool says to everyone Everyone listen 👂 I hear something beautiful I hear music I hear Jasmine She’s singing Batty Rap Wow 😯 She’s really good Whoa 😮 what’s gotten into her Sing Jasmine Sing sweetheart ❤️ Guys look over there 👉 There she is The so very brave fearless tough rough warrior singer 👩🎤 herself
This movie calls out humanity in various ways. I've watched this movie since I was a toddler, and now I just can't believe how I watched the movie so many times and didn't notice.
I feel this movie helped shaped my mind set, I could understand what was happening in the movie, but didn't realize till I got older that they were portraying life as it is...back when gays weren't even allowed to be married yet.
I miss Robin Williams too. When I heard the horrific news, it felt like losing a beloved uncle you've come to know at a young age. It should never have ended that way for him. Respect.
twist58 It feels so good to have an understanding to the feeling I felt when we all lost him. He was like a family member of everyone who's lives he touched with his humour and personality. He was such an amazing man. :(.
Growing up, I have seen him in this movie, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Flubber, the Night at the Museum trilogy, Hook, Jumanji, Robots, RV, August Rush and the Happy Feet duology. No particular favorite I have from this bunch. All equally wonderful in different unique ways.
I'm a year late, but Thomas Dolby & Robin Williams wrote the song. Thomas Dolby (who's probably most known for the song 'She Blinded Me With Science') wrote & composed a lot of the music in this movie.
If something like Hexxor comes from polution..with that voice...let us burn everything we find, and the stuff that does not burn...into the environment^^
This song is genuinely so disturbing. When i was little i remember having chicken pox and listening to this song in particular i thought it was the shit. But if u listen to the whole thing he starts screaming strap him down and if he moves medicate him, MEDICATE him, MEDICATE HIM, MEDICATE ME!! and its so upsetting now that im older to realise how genuinely traumatised that poor bat is. Especially the words that say he had to smoke 600 cigarettes and then the fairy forgot her name says humans and he yells where no no because hes beyond terrified of them. Hes gone insane because of humans.
1:08 I understood the berry lipstick segment was about batty’s experience as a test subject of the cosmetics industry. The products were free of additives that increase the risk of cancer due to animal testing
I love to picture Robin in the recording booth for his voice over roles...He was so electrifying...It's so hard to believe that under all that comedy & charisma, he was so depressed.
LOVE BATTY!! Human tails? Humans don't have tails, they have big big bottoms that they wear with bad shorts. They walk around going HI HELEN! Thank you for posting this 😁
That's actually pretty slow... ngl. This movie is plain as day. Maybe cuase I was a teenager. Might have something to do with it. Cuase I can't for the life of me watch this movie and think "they must really love human's!" 🤣
@@jasonmnosaj I was between 5 and 7 when i watched it and didn't watch it after that. I was aware humans destroyed a lot but I didnt quite catch all the words to Batty's song at that age so didn't know just how much they experimented on him.
@@jasonmnosaj because when so young you see the bad polluted cloud guy doing all the bad things. Dont necessarily connect it to the bigger picture when you're so little.
I think it's sad because like some humans who go through trauma, Batty created his own way of coping through his multiple personalities. It kind of puts a humane, emotional perspective on the torture animals go through just for another product on the shelf.
For some reason this was recommended to me in 2020. No regrets clicking on it! I could still remember all the words to the rap and sang along with it. Brought back my childhood for a few minutes.
Poor Robin Williams... He was such a good actor and what happened to him was horrible. Where ever he is, he is happy now. No more demons to haunt him again. We will all remember him as a funny man who love to make people laugh...
@@menace135 Robin was suffering from Lewy body dementia, a form of dementia that causes memory loss, physical tremors, anxiety, depression and hallucinations. He was literally losing his mind, the one thing that made him what he was, and even worse, he knew what was happening to him. He took his own life.
😂😂😂 I can’t believe I actually remembered the lyrics to this after like 25 years!! As a child I would laugh at this scene til I almost peed myself... Then rewind the VHS and watch it again of course. Thanks for uploading this!!!!
I was put in a psych ward as a kid and we got to watch movies in there and we watched this and the nurse lady who put the movie on was like "look it's you" 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
Everything that Robin Williams has played in has honestly touched me. He knew that there was an issue and brought up a lot of stuff that people should know ..but made it seem so..... cute? I can't find any other words lol.... you can here the enthusiasm and him really getting into any character hes given, while also giving his own awesome spin on it.
This reminded me that the first ever jack-o-lantern I carved for Halloween was of Genie from Aladdin, and how Robin Williams was a MASSIVE part of my life from childhood through teens into adulthood.
I'm genuinely thinking about how much Robin ad-libed his scenes in this movie. We all know that bat-rap wasn't written out word for word and he didn't recite it word for word either.
Truth be told, this movie haunted my dreams. It always nagged me of its existence! It felt so real and yet I couldn’t recall it’s name, but now I can put that nagging to rest as I must thank you for showing me that this movie really did exist!
To this day, if I fall or if I something falls or drops, I say, “Ohp! Gravity works.” Since I was a toddler. This is my favorite song Robin ever did. I miss him so much. 😥 He helped me get through painful very times in my childhood and inspired me to do voice acting and comedy. RIP. We miss you. 💔
In a film many stars, one of heroes to take the lesat in Avengers: Infinity War was Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
I used to watch this as a kid with my aunt and now I looked back and I actually listened to the lyrics and it’s horrifying but some of the lyrics are funny. “Potato in a jacket” -Batty
Because of this movie I am playing it today and watching it with my sister. We both love Robin Williams and his role as Batty Koda! Thank you, William's for my childhood memories of you, from both of us.😍
I loved this movie as a kid, and Batty has always been my favorite character. Thank you for posting his song, I used to play it to my furbies. This movie is honestly underrated, the animation is quite nice looking and expressive and this song clearly had effort put in as it does not serve as just silly filler but has a message about animal testing. It's also a bop :3 . I can't say much in terms of how good the entire movie and story was because it's been years since I've watched it, but I remeber it being a wonderous experince for child me, having some pretty good music numbers and a scary villain, and it's message about protecting the enviorment coming across clearly.
One of my favorite movies in childhood watching it as an adult after like 20 years was insane. Still holds up as a good and original movie not just generic fluff like they make today. Robin Williams Tim Curry and Christian Slater and Cheech and Chong lol
i love how he starts to sound genuinely angry during the verse at like 1:29, bro is getting some catharsis and dropping bangers at the same time. i love this movie
Robin Williams will always be the perfect voice actor for Batty considering that his portrayal of him was so over-the-top yet entertaining at the same time!
If you had told me that someone managed to make a goth rock/rap combo sung by Robin Williams that was actually a bop, I’d never believe you. But then we have this. 👏🏻
I only grew up with the Swedish version of this Movie, soo, i missed out on the late & forever great Robin. Now that i'm listening to this song, he sure could rap.
I had that "one day" today! Out of nowhere, just had the itch to watch it. It's been at least 20yrs since I've seen this. We miss you, Robin. Even in 2020.
I miss Robin Williams. My wife was just singing this song out of the blue so we had to look it up and watch it for reals!!! Thanks for posting this up.
Other than that one vore song later on in the movie, Robin Williams rapping about animal experimentation is one of the most surreal and uncanny things I've ever seen.
