I find that when it comes to elbow pads, you always end up modifying them using a heat gun, stripping of "protective but severely movement-inhibiting" parts or shortening straps/adding more velcro. I would add one modification in particular that I highly recommend and it's based on using liquid silicone/rubber much like that used under some socks to keep them from slipping on stairs etc. It just works wonders and it highly applicable on shin guards as well and you can't feel it at all, but provides a very nice surface of friction against your sweat wear.
Just found this video as I am looking to grab some new elbow pads. I've always bought higher end elbow pads for the added protection, but over the last couple years it seems like they have all gone in the wrong direction in regards to fitment issues ( all brands ). Nothing i find fits me well. I have some older higher end warrior pads that i love, but their time is almost up and I was looking at the DX's that you just happen to have on........but i',m fearful of the 3 piece design and their ability to slide off my elbow just like the 2X's you have in the. Does the sleeve on the DX's and their strapping system really keep them in place well?
Keeps them In place decent, however I had this same issue and I found a solution. So if you like elbow pads but they slide go to shock doctor they make a specific shirt with grip that folds over your elbow pads and keeps them in place. Best solution I have found and doesn’t matter what pads you have then.
Wait I know why the elbow is so pointy, it’s so that it will be comfortable when you bend you elbows to the point where you can’t bend it anymore which you would never do it in a game or a practice
