Victoria 3 playthroughs are back on the menu and we are starting with B A V A R I A because somebody suggested it - no other reason! Tell me right now: Springtime of the Peoples is quite late this playthrough - when it comes for us ... do we side with the reactionaries or the radicals?

the top heavy way of playing with mining in one state and production in the other is how belgium plays by standard too which is neat

22:04 Fun fact, actually in our timeline too Sardigna-Piedmont allied Prussia to fight against Austria in 1866, but they already got Lombardy and were already become the kingdom of Italy (1861), their goal was Venice (as they “missed” just Venice and Lazio, where Rome is). And in our timeline too Italy kinda capitulate before Austria, with Austria ending up occuping part of Lombardy, however Prussia being Prussia defeated Austria forcing to give away Venice too. Austria claimed Italy didn’t perfom well enough to deserve Venice, so they decided to give the region to France, which as soon as they received Venice, they gave the region to Italy, as a gift 😂 (Not sure why give it to France, I suspect they were trying to create tensions between France and the newly born major power, but Napoleon III saw through their play).

I've been impatiently waiting for more Victoria 3 videos. I've played a few campaigns since the Persia video series, and I have found the illiteracy strategy to be very strong.

13:47 when people say "nothing happened then there" they forget that something is happening everywhere all the time. People just focus on certain parts of history and assume that they're seeing the whole picture (or something like that)

the arts academy thing is now a real nuisance, now whenever I have autonomous investments on, 3 out of 5 buildings in the private queue are arts academies all the time, I ended up with a lvl 40 one in Kyoto by 1860 and others growing around the country.

Forming Germany is certainly a no-go, but perhaps Bavaria could be at the head of a Federation/Confederation of the Rhine? 👀

Have you seen any issues with puppet annexation related to customs unions and defensive pacts? In my Brazil playthrough I had an annexation war draw battle lines I couldn't fight battles on. I also found that if you're in a customs union and a defensive pact with the same country and you want to annex your puppets, you are prohibited from doing so. If you drop either the union or the pact you can annex again. I haven't seen anyone talk about this anywhere, and the bug reports I filed with reproduction steps and save files have been ignored.
