This is a great channel, just found y'all today, cleaning the awning brought me here, lol two hours later still watching lol, I live about an hour from Helen GA, in WNC, you should definitely try Paul's on the River, and Trolls restaurant next time!! Keep the videos coming, sure enjoy your channel!!!!
Thanks a bunch Sparky. Glad you found us. We sneak off to WNC from time to time. Love Trolls and Paul’s. Visiting Steve and Karen at Nottely River Valley Vineyards has become home away from home. Hope to head close by again soon.
@@iLoveRVlife that's awesome, I'm about 5 mins away from the vineyard over there, and really enjoyed your videos, y'all be living the good life!!! So glad I came across your channel, I live full time in an RV I liked it so much I bought a piece of land and put it on there, fixing to do a little spring cleaning, as to what brought me to your video. Here's to the RV life, I also love it!!!
I live about 45 mins from Helen. Great little spot. Also, Your happy attitude and positivity are just infectious. Thanks for the uplifting and cool video.
Helen, GA; another adapted "Bavarian" town. Thanks for your video. One day I'll visit all those "Bavarian" towns in the US. I'll make it my homecoming. Now I need a locally brewed craft beer! Greetings from a native Franconian Bavarian, Germany.
What a cool town. I would take the heat over the packed crowds myself too. You didn’t ride the Mountain Coaster ! So many cool places around there. Glad to see Joan in more of the videos. The adventures look to be so much fun. We are marking them down!! We hope to start out next spring...
I Love RV Life Ha. And some great food too. You went to the right place. My good wife would say. Good Luck on zipping or coaster down the mountain. I told her it had brakes on it. Nope. Ha.
Also, I was the Budweiser Salesman (Bud Man) in Helen, Ga. When in the mid '70's and early '80's it became the Alpine City. It was a glorious time! I had the Budweiser Clydesdales as well as the Budweiser Hot Air Balloon for the Great Balloon Race to the Coast. I truly loved it as I made the equivalent of a yearly salary in two months with the sale of Budweiser alone. Great times!!
We’ve been going to Helen since the mid 80’s. Much has changed, but remains a fun place to go. We often joke about going in October and hanging out with 10,000 of our closest friend.
I will remember this adorable little town. If you should be wearing your new jewelry in a video sometime please be sure to point that out! I too love all that Navajo Jewelry. Jerry, you have such a great laugh! 😂... your video are so positive. Thanks for sharing! Wishing you both happy safe travels.
Helen is a great place to visit. Been there a few times. Hope you tried out some of the famous German beer. Lol. Hope you guys are having a great time. Thank you for the videos. O-yea I didn’t see either of you on the zip lines. Lol. Enjoy.
Thanks John and we did. Can leave Helen without enjoying the find beverages. The day you see Joan on a zip line is the day the Earth stops spinning! On the other hand, our son is joining us on a trip in the Fall. He and I have a canopy zip line planned. That should be some good GoPro shots!
Jerry....Just caught this video...we are in Germany right now (Military) and go to Oktoberfest every year over here. I've heard about this place in Georgia but thanks for the vid.....we will def get thru there when we get back to see if they get it right...😎
Were actually taking our summer vacation here this same week we are camping as well this little town is very nice ! I wish we would have ran into yall love the videos keep them coming....
I always enjoy seeing your latest adventures Jerry! We recently made the trip from St Louis area to Orlando for a vacation this past week. I Wanted to pass on to your subscribers that we found a good campground that was about the halfway point called the Harvest Moon. It was in Adairsville Ga. right of interstate 75. Park was very neat and clean with big pull thru sites great for a night to rest. Full hookups and plenty of shopping/ restaurants to refuel after a long drive. Keep up with the good trip ideas Jerry/Joan.
Loved this video and love seeing Joan more often!! We will be stopping in Hazelhurst, Ga in early March on the way back to Iowa and think we will make a pit stop in Helen!! Thanks for the video!!
Thanks. Love having Joan in the videos. She'll show up in most of the travel segments. Leaves the maintenance videos to me. Big trip planned in a few days. We'll make sure she's front and center!
I am glad to to be able to watch RV life here in the South Eastern part of the USA! I live in SC so it is extra special as it is unlikely that I will ever travel to the Northwest where so many RV videos are done but I can look forward to visiting our local area! Thanks!
Thanks Rose. We have more southeastern spots to share then are going to wander a little further west in a few weeks. Great to hear you’re enjoying the channel.
Where did you guys stay at while in Helen? We loved this video and are very interested in going there. Its the type of place enjoy visiting. We enjoy watching your videos and all the intersting places you stay. Keep them coming.
Thanks Terry. We’re a bit long with truck and 5th wheel. We usually stay in Cleveland, GA at Leisure Acres Campground. Nice family run campground, big rig friendly and a few miles from all the fun in Helen and Dahlonega.
Beautiful Town but not one of a kind, we have Leavenworth here up on one of the passes, it's a Bavarian Town with Stores and restaurants almost Identical to your Helen. We go there when they are busiest like you they have a big Octoberfest, and they have a Beautiful lighting of the Christmas lights for 3 days so everyone gets to see it! Christmas time is very Special. I would love to go to Helen one day and see that Town as well.
Hi Tom and Laurie. Interesting that you brought up Leavenworth. While editing this episode, I saw where Nomadic Fanatic was there. What a beautiful town. Helen decorates for Christmas too. These are special places.
It is fun JoJo. The rock are smooth from centuries of the water running in the streams. May be a bump or two on the bottom if the water is low, but easy to move around.
There's several in the area. We prefer to stay south of the mountains in Cleveland, GA at Leisure Acres Campground, big rig friendly. That places us minutes from Helen and Dahlonega. If you want more of the mountains, there's Unicoi State Park. It's a little tight and suggest RVs in the 30 foot range or Track Rock Campground in Blairsville which is big rig friendly.
