I just love your neat pipe work, you always do a great job. I imagine many customers probably don't fully appreciate the care and thought you put in but I think it is well worth the effort and I'm sure you wouldn't do it any other way. A big thumbs up from me!
Understand your point about taking a while to fill initially, but a few minutes of pain is worth it for a dozen+ years of ease! You're right, Schrader is really easy, central flue is great, all brass hydraulics built to last and the purge you have to do at the start is to elongate life of heat ex, stop noisy scorch marks etc. Very easy to use, and can be attached to any smart control if the customer wants fancy interfaces etc Also, the rear piping kit is a fantastic addition! IFOS is the real game changer though, takes two minutes to fit. The flue can be facing any way (doesn't have to be North etc) as the sensor is clipped discreetly into the air intake. These are £25+VAT and comply with boiler plus!!! uSense is around £130+VAT Great video as usual, great work
Hi PB, I’ve watched nearly all your videos and you are a real inspiration to us all here! love your work quality and your pipework is brilliant Personally I have switched over to viessmann boilers Last 10 years and I’ve never looked back The quality & efficiency is amazing and the customers are all happy Ps. I envy and love your van!!
Hi Salim, I've got a 2 bed flat with one bathroom and one shower, (no bath). I'm thinking about getting the Viessmann Vitodens 050-W 29kW - would you recommend these models?
Good review, fitted my first Baxi 630 just this week but not without slight drama. Central heating worked beautifully but no hot water! I am a Baxi works installer but Baxi couldnt come for 2 days! Bare in mind my customer had been without hot water for 10 days. I returned the following day to patch up and sort a few other bits but decided to check PCB for any dodgy connections and hey ho! Multi connector 22 not pushed on fully. I pushed it fully home until it clicked and bingo, hot water working. Obviously an assembly line issue but not very good. Something you may not have noticed but the return and cold water connections on to the boiler are virtually impossible to tighten with the fill loop in place and would necessitate a tap spanner to tighten should there be a drip. Like u, dont like the fill loop at all but worcester using them also, why?? Might go back to my Logic plus albeit i should know better after bitter experiences with the Isar
Brilliant standard of installation PB. Couple of questions if I may. Filter on Flow and return? Bypass installed between Flow and Return? Is the additional expansion due to system size?
Fitted one of these two days ago. Have to say it was as I have come to expect a nice easy fit from baxi. Boiler is no thrills but runs well and that's what I want. Bravo on your pipe work by the way PB!! Super neat and tidy! 👌
thanks again loved this keep them coming ,my baxi solo which is aprox 8/10 years old is bein replaced end of may this year,So i think we may be trying a new baxi, again we need the heat only as we have a y plan,,i assume they have a new model for this ,
This channel is gold for me, one quastion do u clean plate heat exchanger or just replace him when it's clogged? And didi u flush the sistem? So the primary heater doesn't clog
Good video! How many boiler installs do you recon you have lost with boiler plus coming into force? Wonder if anyone has had the backflow valve go off on them yet? And has anyone piped one up to the drain with it having 3/8 bsp thread 🤔
Hi, i'm sort of binge watching these types of vids as my parents are getting a new boiler and your vid seems the most likely they will get as its in an upstairs airing cupboard with the gas mains directly underneath (on the outside), the guy that came out said they would need a boiler, a water heater for the rads and a new cylinder. Question to you sir , How long would you expect a job like that to take? i should mention that they are also taking out the back boiler downstairs, also what are the regs on ladder workings on roofs? as the guy said the flue will go out onto the roof of the house and they don't want a scaffold outside. I 'm asking this as it is starting to stress out my parents and i'd like to tell them it might only take two days or so,..thanks for your time.
I'm fitting the same boiler as an amateur plumber. I've bolted it to the wall, knocked the hole through for the exhaust, and have all of the pipework beneath the boards below the unit. I'll hire a professional to finish the job and check it off. If you don't mind, though, what are those components you have on your copper pipes?
I’ve just moved into a property that has one of these I have some questions if you could answer that would be amazing !!! The system was completely empty. No pressure. So we pulled the green knob and bled the rads. Both dials are set to MIN. But we have the smart thermostat on the wall, should I keep the dials on MIN? Also is it worth my cycling it through a purge mode ? Thanks.
What's the brass thing on the flow pipe dude. Also the little red plugs that fit in the electrical cable inlets fit wicked on the filling loop holds it half open so you can fill and bleed at the same time........you've probably worked this out by now mind haha
Hi Allen I am looking to have my boiler replaced, what boiler on the market today would you have fitted to your house if you had to replace your boiler. Looking at a (Viessmann Vitodens 111-W 26kW Storage Combination Boiler Natural Gas ErP) or a (IDEAL VOGUE MAX COMBI 40 GAS COMBI BOILER) are these both ON a par with each other if yes what would be your choice. Changing from oil to PLG.
Hi I'm a Domestic Energy Assessor saw one yesterday couldn't locate the Gas Council number not listed on the users manual either not on Sedbuk list and Baxi help desk on phone Sunday couldn't tell me either. Please can you tell me what the GC number is for the Baxi 600 Combi. many thanks Tina
Dominic Halliday the flow has a Spirotech RV2 on it, looks like a filter but it’s actually and air separator, they remove micro air bubbles from the system to prevent corrosion 👌🏽
As a reitred 70 year old plumber,Ime just interested to ask how long would you expect these modern combi boiler to last, bearing in mind thet we used to rip out those very very old potterton cast iron floor standing kingfishers,
Many thanks cheers ,great video ,i do love it when you guys explain all the points ,Reading books etc,is always a struggle for me ,So videos are just brilliany thanks again.
Was a big Baxi man for years until the GA fitted a load all fucked up time after time. Went to the logic plus 450 fitted and counting only been back to service them . Have no reason to change, 3 more booked for next week.
Hi I have been looking at most quotes online for a new boiler and many of the websites that I've clicked on are giving me a quote but the quote almost always includes a chemical flush and not a powerflush. I'm really worried because most warranties are only valid if there is no sludge in the boiler and if the engineer does find any sludge then the warranty would not cover the repair of the boiler. I have been living in this house for 20 years and I believe that the radiators have not been powerflushed or chemically flushed even once in the 20 years. I'm really worried that if the heating system is chemically flushed like most of these quotes are saying then that their might still be some sludge in the system and my warranty would be void if anything was to go wrong with the boiler. Please can you let me know if this would be the case or not. Many thanks in return.
soldering is neat but dont you get paranoid about potential pin holes when only feeding in the solder from one spot ? , im guesing you only do this when its exposed/display pipework? , can never bring myself to do it that way just in case .....
If you have a large central heating system with many radiators, sometimes you need an additional expansion vessel to deal with the increased expansion that the boilers built in vessel alone won't be able to adequately support.
I'm not watching how to fit a boiler, I'm just someone who needs a new boiler and all I want to know is the name of a reliable well made boiler. I need to know which is the Henry Hoover of boilers. HELP.
Just got my baxi and have same question. Just bit annoying non stop sound. Can't sleep night time as boiler is just under my bedroom. Can it's can be done or it's just something what engineering team did miss???
@@lindabuka6740 I wired Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat to a boiler on OpenTherm. I think I followed this wideo or some other. Basically thermostat sorted everything straight away. And you control all boiler settings on it
I had one experience where baxi were difficult with there blue range warranty kinda put me off. They even blamed a friend for fitting a part upside down which was an impossibility.
pieface952 we all have a bad experience with a manufacturer at some point I guess, as a company we have fitted baxi for years and they’re generally good to us, I’ve had a really bad experience with Vokera it was the only Vokera I’ve ever fitted and they were right dicks, so never again, you live and learn
Answered like a politician👍. You very right tho. I used to rave about them I might be wrong (could have been my last toaster with my memory) but I'm sure the old solo heat only didn't even need a permanent live, saved the day sometimes.
Good question. We have 3 bedrooms and 8 radiators in total and have been advised this boiler will do the job, but other websites seem to say 2-3 radiators max. Any tips or advice would be useful.
Hi. Ever come across E40 fault code on these? The engineer tried to commission the 830 today but the boiler wouldn't even reset. Everything seems fine to the point of pulling hair out of dispair.
I have no experience with Baxi, but it’s owned by Remeha which I do work on a lot. If there is power from the outlet but the boiler won’t turn on, the board might be knackered. Hard to say when I’m not there. But if you’re not a licensed plumber, and I don’t know if you are, please call one. Good plumbers cost a bit but they’re worth it. Outside of that, if it still has warranty then you might just void it if you decide to go at it yourself.
P B Plumber good boilers all throughout, 5 year 7 and 10 year. Installer connect ect. Also boiler plus is so much easier with the ideal touch. £110 plus vat worth a peak
I'm wanting the vogue fitted as part of the refurb in my house. Tried to get as much info on it, some say its bad not as well made due to plastic parts. but come with 10 years warranty ?
Not too sure the metal base is a great idea with twin cable entries. Someone will cause eddy’s with wiring, suppose its like most things though, cant accommodate stupidity!
So, the CH control is on the left and the icon for it appears on the right of the display and the HW control is on the right and the icon for it appears on the left of the display... That's just poor user interface design by Baxi.
Nah. It's a custom LCD so it would need to be remade or the dials swapped round which would be a circuit/processor tweak and a change to the screen print on the panel. Then they would have to change the manual...
The worst company i have ever dealt with Purchased in April 2017 Inspected by Baxi in may 2017 boiler installed ok , worked for 18 mts boiler now condemned by Baxi saying it was installed incorrectly now washing their hands of it blaming the installer
P B Plumber yea I meant co alarm what happens if it leaks how would you tell I’m not giving you hate or anything I’m just a plumbing apprentice we do gas boilers and always put them alarms in I was just trying to learn from you I watch your videos all the time
FUNNY SH#T it’s cool mate I wasn’t being funny, I would advise a CO alarm for whole house protection I wouldn’t deem it necessary to install one in a cupboard with a room sealed appliance The law at the minute is you need a CO alarm only if you have solid fuel appliance, which I think is crazy
