There is an error here. The US placed nuclear missiles in Turkey before the Soviets placed them in Cuba and it’s the reason that the Soviets placed the missiles in Cuba. Something that was left out of this explanation, but very important.

The Belgians knew the French intended for the bulk of the fighting to be done on their territory in order to avoid a repeat of the first world war.

Yeah it is a lie and it's still showing in the Kennedy library and wikipedia. I don't know why this is the case because there are a lot of resources that clearly show the time frame, the names of people involved, the date the plan was shown to Kennedy and his reaction to the plan. After being persuaded by by his Vice president Richard Nixon Eisenhower authorized the CIA to setup a task force where they helped organize and train Cuban rebels but his involvement mainly ended there. He was reluctant to get the U.S involved at all. One of Kennedys main talking points during the election was that Eisenhower wasn't tough on Cuba and he promised to be. Just one example here is a quote from CIA deputy director Richard Bissel right after Kennedy defeated Nixon in the presidential election. He was in charge of all the CIA operations regarding Cuba. "I am glad it came out as it did. I found less to choose between the two candidates than many of my friends, but I think Kennedy is surrounded by a group of men with a much livelier awareness than the Republicans of the extreme crisis that we are living in... What I really mean is that the Democrats will be far less inhibited in trying to do something about it. My guess is that Washington will be more lively and interesting place in which to live and work." Also also more then ridiculous that people think the 5 star general who planned and overseen operation Torch (the invasion of North Africa in WW2), the invasion of Italy and operation overlord (D-Day) which was the largest invasion in the history of the planet would approve such a terrible invasion plan.

Kennedy didn't want the more intelligent plan to land in city of Trinidad that Eisenhower planned, too "exposed", wanted to hide US involvement so sent volunteers into the swamp at Bay of Pigs! What a mess. Kennedy made Cuban refugee fighters sitting ducks unarmed enough to fight an organized Communist dictator. And he pulled the plan to control the air too. Disastrous.
