Amen Daniel !!! Our local Firefighters from Kingman Arizona spent almost 2 weeks there after Hurricane Katrina. These were seasoned Firefighters, Paramedics and National Guard members and they all had very similar experiences that you just talked about. This was a great video! Today was a very bad day for me and y’all feel like family… and I thank you, DeJay and Houston for this… I was able to laugh…. Y’all are special!!! Blessings….

Hi, Daniel, DeJay and Houston! I took your advice, Daniel. I’m now a subscriber to Jared’s channel. Thanks! My son went down to help after Katrina, also. Army National Guard from the Danville Armory. He said he saw things he didn’t want to talk about down there. I think ANY Service Members are HEROES. He says no, it was his job, it was why he joined. To help people. I’m still sure y’all are heroes. You stand for those of us who can’t stand for ourselves. Thank you! ♥️🙏♥️ P.S. I love mint tea! And fried catfish!!

Daniel. My home church sent a team down to Pascagoula MS in Oct 2005 after Katrina had destroyed that part of Mississippi. One of our church members brother lived in that community and we helped a bunch of families rebuild there houses. We never got to New Orleans but from what I saw in Pascagoula Bay and those old Antebellum homes destroyed it was mind-blowing. You would drive through neighborhoods. There would be chimney foundations or just a toilet in a yard but no house. You would see a two or three story structure were the bottom floor was gone and the other floors just pancaked. It was hard to believe how hot and humid it was in mid October. I lived in Rocky Mount NC from 1988 until April of 1995. In Sept 1999 Hurricane Floyd took out major sections of Edgecombe and Nash County. It was hard to see neighborhoods that I was familiar with just destroyed. Any property that was near the Neuse River was destroyed.

Katrina was bad, not the worse but bad because of the lack of infrastructure at that time. I won't get into the government of Louisiana, but I do blame them for the lack of caring they have for the local people in the cities. I thank God too for where we are at too. Looks like it was a fun time and also educational for Houston. Gave him a whole new perspective I bet. Outside the cities Louisiana is great and normal I am sure. We took in a lot of elderly after Katrina where I was working at an assisted living home. It was so sad hearing their stories. Thank you for your service over there. I was one of the first to go into Galveston and Bolivar after Ike and that was just as devastating only what a difference because of the difference in government. I am away from the coast now and love it. Would like to have more rain of course as we are back in our drought. Prayers for your family and thank God for parents like you still in the world!

We saw pictures and videos of New Orleans after Katrina but those people had to move on but never really get over it. It shows in their Cities and lives everyday! They just go through the motions of Life and Do what that have to do. I'm sure some recovered but others, never will... They lost everything including families. How do you ever recover from that except with the hope and help of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Without Jesus, Hope and Faith to me, there is nothing! Next time you are in New Orleans, stop in at the Southern Candy Company at 334 Decatur St. New Orleans LA. Their specialty is pralines (though they do have other delicious candies as well. I absolutely love all of the flavors of pralines they have there (especially the chocolate pralines, which are like a homemade fudge. I have no connection to them. I simply discovered them one time when I was visiting New Orleans and fell in love with their candy (all made right there in the store). They ship too, but the pralines are best when eaten fresh.

But go with people who won’t want to fight, lots of police down there when I went. Alligator, Catfish plus the Muffellota Sandwich was my favorites. Since being allergic to shell fish.
