Homesteading and Homesteaders, what is it all about? Well for us it is small town people just trying to live the good life. We strive to make the best decisions for our families health and happiness. We are very much into growing and producing our own food. We make every attempt to provide what we can for ourselves.
Daniel hiring someone to do that tree was wise since it was bigger than you felt comfortable cutting down 😊 You have things that you great at but big trees not so ❤😂
We had a few brush piles we had to burn and dad would save our corn cobs and when he got ready to burn them he would soak the corn cobs in either diesel or some other flammable fluid and put them in the brush pile and it would really get the pile going good.
That was wonderful that Houston has chosen to be baptized. It makes one feel good when you know your children have chosen to become a disciple of Christ. 💖💖💖
my plant app PictureThis says that the white flower is a white prickly poppy, as a plant lover I love this app, I wish I had a field of wild flowers but until I do Ill cover my city yard in them and grow my veggies in the backyard... hope the rain eases up on yall with no high winds, sending good vibes from SW Va
There's a waterline on your dead tree. Definitely deep flood. Good luck with your fencing.😅😅😅😅😅. Nice job with this tree!! Hey Houston, nice looking pole, I like the markings on ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Nice fish also.
Wow that’s a lot of rain, glad the animals are alright, looks like your greenhouse took a knock too! Well we all need rain, but that much all at once is hectic! Stay safe Arms Family ❤ from me in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤❤❤
Daniel - pears do not ripen on the tree. Lift the pear above the stem. If the stem releases from the tree, the pear will continue to ripen on your counter and be delicious. The tree looks like it will have a wonderful crop - big too. I raised pears in Western Washington. Harvested around end of August / Labor Day. Unsure on harvest in your area.
Just an aside…. You should enter Houston into a “Mullet Contest.” The last one I watched, everyone was bemoaning the fact that NONE of the contestants had “curls.” Houston does not have that problem.
Daniel, you definitely made the right decision when you had someone with experience cut down that huge tree. You are making progress with the cleanup from the storms. Take care of yourself. I really enjoyed watching Houston fish while you were giving him guidance. He is very good at fishing. Blessings to you and your family. ❤
I realized during this video how long I have been watching your channel. When you were scooping up that blue barrel I recognized it as one that you used to try growing hydroponic cucumbers in your greenhouse years ago! And also it is very gratifying watching Houston reeling in, landing, unhooking and weighing a fish completely by himself and offering valid commentary about it. He has matured so much the last couple years. You and DJ should be very proud
That tree made a pretty impactful landing. I'm surprised it didn't break apart. It's good to see how much Houston still enjoys fishing. I know you'll be glad when all the clean up is done.
Dan how about this OAK TREE that came on down !!! Cut those logs in half !!! 2 biggest ones in the middle for you there !!! Then the others cut into half on the outer sides !!! Now Dan we call those D LOGS in Logging OAK will be heavier for that part right there & you will have it like a road higher in the middle for you !!! This is what I would do if it was my place !!! I know it is your place other than that light poles in the city that came on down those would help you on out also or closer to the land !!!
So glad you're gonna use help, so smart! That tree could be a widow maker! Getting the fences cleaned out & back up os enormous. You guys have been thru a lot, you're helping youself & your fam! 💜🙏💜
To use barley straw for pond algae control, you can follow these steps: Loosely put the straw in cages or netting and anchor them to the bottom but allow them to float near the surface. Use around two bales for every surface acre of the pond. Avoid overloading your pond with barley, as it can deoxygenate the water and harm fish1. Replace the barley straw every 8 weeks in the spring/summer/autumn period for persistent algae issues2. Barley straw decomposes and produces humic acid, which helps control algae growth3.
Yeah the weather is crazy. Hot dry wet steamy foggy sticky. We were fishing 🎣 today a few hours, no bites, probably bc fish knew a big storm ⛈ was coming. It came out of nowhere. Praise God we didn’t loose power this time. No big damage. ❤
Dead trees like that are called widow makers. So glad you got help from a tree company. So thankful that you and your family are safe and the tornadoes missed you guys. Take care and time with the clean up. Count your blessings 🙏. God bless 🙏.
