I'm a huge supporter of Terese Nielsen art since WOTC refuses to do any business with her... I've started collecting all her cards since day 1 and it's quite a lot of cards lol but hopefully like Rudy said, banned cards adds another layer to the investing business. Who's knows my unique Terese Nielsen collection could be sought after in 10-15 years like dual lands lol

The people who blame people like Rudy for "hoarding" these cards, should really be blaming time. Time is why these prices are going up. It's equivalent to the avergae human, as time goes on, we are more valuable. These cards are STILL available on the market, and instead of doing something to acquire it, these people wpuld rather go out of their way on videos like this to throw a tantrum. Don't throw your nonrefundable time away being angry, adjust to the environment.

This is just general good investment advice. Focus on longterm over shortterm because yeah you might hit it big with a good shortterm investment but you might also burn all your money at once.

Congrats Rudy. Have fun with all that. I agree with you and have been too poor to buy into magic anywhere close to that. I got my set of Revised dual lands (40 cards) for $750 in 2007. I got my 4 Bazaar of Baghdad for my dredge deck at $250 each, one at a time. I got my Unlimited Black Lotus for about $1,200. I just want cards to play with. No disrespect because I love your videos, but the prices are flipping disgusting. Not your fault, just the market, but it is shameful that the reserve list exists and we have to turn to counterfeit cards just to play with these game pieces.

You see things in the cards others don't, if you weren't there, you couldn't understand.... I was there... Sometimes I still look at the wear and tear of my old forests and remember playing with revised shivan dragons and beta lightning bolts on my friends front steps. I remember getting splinters playing on someones back porch from my veteran bodyguards.

In 2013 I did trade to get a Bazaar.... It was 300$ CAD I did trade an heavy played damaged Candelabra of Thanos + other cards..... Finished the trade with a Bazaar and a Berserk Unlimited..... One of my best trade ever done 😎

I wonder what the current supply is. For instance, if Rudy wanted to unload 10, 20, or 50 Bazaars, would he be able to sell them at the $1500-$2000 or more price point? If Rudy is saying he does not wish to sell, then from his perspective, who cares if the price continues to rise or crashes to the ground?

I think the hate comes from all the people who wish they'd kept their reserved list cards from back in the day when they were dirt cheap. Yep, I've sold power this century, and regretted it, but I also kept power, so I'm not out of the game. I've got my duals, moxen, and a fistful of reserved list stuff that I am proud to own, and I'm not putting down for anyone. I enjoy your videos Rudy, keep putting them up, and just because you're right is no reason to be ashamed in this whacky weirdo 2020 environment! You enjoy your mansion, yacht, supermodel girlfriend, and diamond studded black credit cards!

To me it seems like something has changed over the last few videos. Usually I had the impression that Rudy really believes what he is saying. Now its more like he wishes that he is right what he is saying. I think the new direction in which magic is going, is more than worrisome for Rudys analytical brain.

I think it was a very interesting point around the 8 minute range. Rudy probably owns more RL cards than just about anyone else alive, and he doesn't care if they get rid of it. I have been saying for years, even if there were more Tropical Islands or whatever in the world, there wouldn't be any more ABU Tropical Islands. Birds of Paradise and Lightning Bolt have been reprinted approximately a billion times each, Bolt often at common. Near Mint Beta Bolt is a couple hundred dollar card. the best thing that could happen to that card is if they put it back into Standard, because the high end players would want the most exclusive version. the list served a purpose at one point, but now, no matter how plentiful the reprints, the scarcity of the originals means they wouldn't be harmed at all long term.

I understand 93 + Legends prices, but the recent surge in 4th and Revised shows how dumb the Magic community is. The print runs were massive and you have people paying hundreds for Wheel of Fortune or $50+ for Sylvan... So effin dumb and why I quit playing. No concept for balanced markets.

It's almost as if getting a foothold in a collectible and sitting on it for 20 years can yield a profit. Kinda like what you've been explaining in these videos since your channel's inception. RUDY! Just wanted to get your attention, because you never talk about this. The biggest driver in reserved list prices is currently the Commander format. Sure, people buy near mint stuff to collect, but anything lower than a graded 8 is bought for playing, and the current format to play is Commander. You can't overestimate how popular it is. Timetwister is by far the least powerful of the Power 9 (very easy to replace with cards like Wheel of Fortune and Windfall), but it's now second only to the Black Lotus in price. The reason is, it's the only Power 9 that is not banned in Commander, due to being of lower power level. The same goes for Bazaar, Workshop and Tabernacle. They are all soaring due to not being banned in Commander, while Library of Alexandria (being way more powerful than those three), is banned and it's price is growing only moderately.

Count down until this becomes an art card in the front of a set booster.... time spiral remastered?
