Ara needs our full support on her journey to MU. She is not just competing for herself but for the whole Philippines. As Filipinos we must unite and give our full support for her to be our 3rd Miss Universe. (",)
Lara Dutta has the highest score in Q&A in the entire Miss U history. Her final Q&A is very difficult but she nailed it.
she answers the question na galing sa heart nya unlike sa 3 previous winners na parang memorize or npag-aralan na ang isasagot... same w/ ms. universe answer nya... kanya lng ung naexplain ng ayos.
I agree. The question reminds me of the question asked to miss tugonon before. Well, mas type ko nga lang ang pagsagot ni janine kasi she said it with confidence and without hesitation.
She answered it with sense, nothing to do with pronunciation. Kung pronunciation ang issue makinig kau sa pagent ng Venezuela ng maloka kau sa pronunciation nila when they speak english. Lol.. so pronunciation is not an issue at all. Tong mga kababayan kong sobrang fluent mag english at saksakan ng katalinuhan, lets just support Arielle arida so MU 2013.
Hi Ana Alvarez, I dont think Filipinos need to speak like the Americans, simply because we are not americans and we speak Tagalog everyday not English unless you are a callcenter agent that provide service to the english speaking countries and spend most of your time talking to them then you will be able to mimic these white folks. However this person works as a Chemist surrounded by FILIPINOS, so you cant expect her to speak the way YOUR English works. Napakaperfect mo!
Hey...attention pls..Arida's question and answer is the same question and answer to Ms. Dominican Republic (2nd runner up) during 2005 Miss Universe pageant , watch the 2005 Miss U. for you to know,..sorry but I've notice only...I pray you win Ms. Arida..good luck...and pray more..panata lang yan...
kung nagbasa ka ng description, hindi ka sana na-disappoint. iphone5 cam lang ang gamit ko, so what do u expect? gusto mo pala ng maganda at malakas na quality, nag imax ka sana teh!
I'm REALLY nervous for her, you have 3 consecutive MsU runners-up and then 2 title holders in less than a month, before you, and then this...... hoping she gets more confidence and alot of training after this pageant.
She's good. Respeto nalang at suportahan natin sya. Tsk! Go Ms. Arida! Proud INC
But infairness to her she is really beautiful than to other past miss universe candidates that represented in our country. We hope that she will bring out the crown for Ms. Universe pageant 2013.
And by the way, if there are 500 Million spanish speaking people then they should also adjust to 6,973,738,433 population of the world as of 2011, a statistics coming from World Bank, who knew that English is the UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. At least Filipinos able to talk, read and comprehend english language. It may not be perfect but we dont need interpreters in a competition like this.
Has there ever been an instance that our Filipina representatives tagged an interpreter along with them in the pageants they've joined? It is not something we should be ashamed of. I am actually looking forward to that day when beauty pageant contestants and their organizers realize how effective one can be in the Q&A portion given the opportunity to express oneself through our own medium of communication. :))
Beautiful girl. I am not sure about her answer to the question. The fact that she said that men are more logical than women in terms of decision making does not exactly empower women in this aspect. Best of luck.
Michael, if you noticed the words NOT in full caps and "logical" enclosed with quotation marks, you might have considered your "judgment" on the basis as to how it is supposed to be UNDERSTOOD. My point was not grounded on how MUCH or how LESS logic men or women "used' in making decisions. It is NOT how sufficient or insufficient amount of logic she was talking about when she said "...men are MORE logical..." that is being scrutinized BUT the "lack" of logic on women's decisions by comparison.
Her answer is a good attempt at the question. The pronunciation and diction are not even an issue. The fact of the matter is you are in a forum where women are celebrated for their attributes. A woman who can exhude both strength as well as intelligence. We need to get away from the mentality that men are more capable than women in certain fields. Come on people, there have been great women leaders, we need to move forward in this way of thinking. I am sure she has lots of time to work .
So, what's the point being a "SKOLAR NG BAYAN"? Does THAT make you immune from criticisms and "IMPERFECTIONS"? Where in my posts did I state WITHOUT reservation NOR concealment that Ms. Arida's answer [IS] WRONG? I was ONLY stating matters concerning my opinion on her answer. What kind of a "scholar" (as you claim to be) are you?
Taga UP ako at alam ko yan. Ang mali sa Pilipinas naging status symbol na yung pagsasalita ng English more so straight English. HALLER napacolonial po ng ganung mentality. Look at the Japanese people or the French and the Italians they speak English with a very strong native accent and some of them don't even speak English at all.
How ironic for you to fight tooth and nail against the bashers only to diss a country/nationality in particular?Shame on you yourself! At least most of those representing Latin America have the humility to accept their English language inefficiency.I mean, they don't pretend to be good at it(like some countries do, only to embarrass themselves in the end)and that's what makes them real beauty queens.:)Criticisms should be taken lightheartedly and people will support whom is worth supporting.;)
respect others opinion..dont make it a big deal ok..haist mga tao nga nman nakikialam pa sa opinyon ng iba,,kya nga may comment box kc free sxa sa comment ng lhat..hello u can't please everyone kya dont insist urs..thats the nature of mankind very opinionated and judgemental kya magcomment ka nlang ng gusto mo at wag ng makialam sa comment ng iba..ok po,,:))
Your 'imagine being in her position' argument is getting pretty old.Don't try to justify her failure to give a satisfying response by saying the entire country is watching..blah, blah, blah cuz in the first place we all know that it's how it works. That's why they undergo a certain period of time to prepare. What if she gives another cringe-worthy answer in the internat'l competition? Are we gonna say,'Oh! Give her a break. She didn't have enough time to think.'?NOT! Solution?BRING INTERPRETERS!
First of all, I diin't say that her answer is wrong. I simply mean that she should speak tagalog instead, because her english is awful. There is nothing wrong if she speaks tagalog AT ALL. If she wants to speak english, so be it, but I hope she'll undergo training (with you! "believe anyone" not "believe to anyone").
