ITV's new stations were due to start broadcasting on the 27th July 1968 with a new set of idents and jingles. On Monday 7th July 1968, BBC-1 replaced the watchstrap ident with the floating globe and occasionally with a jingle.
@@lorddalek i think the writer of the other comment knew that. He was highlighting the way the announcer said ‘Valerie’ . Eventually it would become Val, John and Pete.
