BBC One had been simulcasting BBC News since around 1240-1250 when the first announcement of concern for her health was made, so it was the same thing seen here on BBC One except the graphics at the bottom will have been absent.
Yes indeed, I understand. Was just curious of what was said leading into the start of the video clip.. like even 1-2 minutes before the start of this clip. I was listening on BBC 1 and it really caught me off guard when they first announced it and I was curious if I missed something right before.
@@scottnoddin4372 Sorry, don't have the footage from directly before. I have a few minutes of different scattered clips from within the hour or so before the announcement, but that's all. I can upload them. They were mostly live outside the Balmoral gates. About 10-15 mins before the announcement, it was said that there was no sense of panic or drama there, just "the sense of a well-rehearsed plan quietly swinging into action".
I was honestly so sad when I saw that dark "News Report" screen. Then he said "This is BBC News from London," that can only mean awful things. The last time that happened was 9/11. I worked for the AP in Hartford CT for 15 years before a car accident sidelined me, and I remember learning about the broadcast protocol for this event. This is also historically important, as it's the first time this has been carried out on television.
