​@@kingdomranu Probably not title contenders at this event but the Kiwi's still had a very good team and were also consistent enough to reach the semifinals of this event, beating Aus in group stages and India in super six stage along the way. It would be unfair not to highlight the performance of their left arm pacer Geoff Allott who was outstanding in this event and deservingly finished as the joint highest leading wicket taker with 20 wickets. Zimbabwe weren't too shabby either upset wins over India and South Africa ensured that they punched well above their weight by progressing to the super six stage, but they lacked depth and failed to win a single game in the super six stage, nonetheless Neil Johnson performed exceptionally well with both bat and ball.

It’s a program made by the BBC and shown on the BBC. It’s going to focus mainly on England ( and Scotland ). I agree that they should have used more up to date footage though.

It was well-known that the West Indies were a team in decline by 1999, and they also weren't travelling well. While still strong at home (the drawn Test and ODI series against Australia are a great example) they had been whitewashed in South Africa with Lara as captain.

And WI record in ODIs up to the 90s wasn’t that poor. Drawing with Australia in 1999, reaching the finals of WSC in 1997, losing to a great Pakistan side, beating England in the ODI series in 1998. WI only lost to SA in 98 and Pakistan in the 97 tri series. In addition to being semi finalists in the 96 World Cup
