I really was not expecting this video to get this amount of views, thank you so much! Sorry about how the voice pronounced “scheduled” and other stuff. That’s mainly because of the tts software I used. I will try and fix it next time!
Obviously, but whats cool its that we theoretically know what would happen, earth would continue its orbit for a bit before being shot out of the system, life would still be possible thanks to geothermal heat
Bro the silence during "It has been noted that the sun has not risen at the moment." actually gives me chills That is infinitely more terrifying than just saying "The sun has vanished", real good stuff
We would all die anyway it’s too cold for life pit there also no sun means no light =no photosynthesis = no plant growth= herbivores die =carnivores die = end of life
I love how calm the BBC is in every single EAS scenario, including in actual movies. If I actually thought the world was ending I'd turn on BBC just because I'd rather hear 'keep calm and carry on to your nearest atomic shelter' than panicked broadcasters.
When the sun disappears: BBC: Bit dark out today, a dilly of a pickle I assume. Everyone else: *ƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌƌ!!1!1!1!111!!*
BBC: an asteroid the size of the moon has entered the atmosphere, please remain calm and prepare to be hit in 20 seconds. Due to this small inconvenience this will be our final broadcast.
I love that in this narrative, the BBC waited until 14:30 in the afternoon to address the fact the sun hadnt risen that day. Like they were sitting there, thinking "we'll give it a little longer, you never know... Oh screw it, it's time to do the emergency announcement"
Telling the British people they're going to die and signing off with the national anthem is the most BBC thing I've ever seen, I'm convinced this happened in a parallel universe.
@bellum128 The national anthem was played constantly during the second world war, but the government never told the people that they'll die. Warned of the dangers, sure, but not certain prescriptions.
This was literally one of my worst fears around my pre-teen years (about 8-10 years old). I went camping with my cub group once, and I remember it still being dark at 7am. I started to well up with fear. But I saw a slight paling of the sky and was then relieved :D
@@Awesoman9001yeah. All things considered for EAS scenarios, this is pretty mild and survivable conpared to the other fucked up shit people come up with.
Also, we're going to stop broadcasting anything so you've got nothing to watch for the next week while we all die. I feel like if this really happened, every station on the planet would be broadcasting stuff at all times to prevent mass panic. Except the news channels. They're all about that mass panic.
Fun Fact: This scientifically cannot happen, every planet in the solar system orbits the sun so even if the sun would have moved, the planets would still be orbiting with it.
Imagine being at school or in a hospital during this. People just start leaving and not caring about eachother. No security guards or doctors. Just sheer panic and the students/patients are stuck inside worrying about their families and knowing that they all have so little time to live. What’s really scary about this is imagining what the world would look like if this was real. Rioting and the apocalypse in pure darkness. The only people you can maybe trust is your family and close friends. If you were out and about before the announcement, you were probably being chased or killed by a neighboring dog or bird. Everyone at home is surrounded by darkness, trying to fight off rioters, looters, and wild animals. Household pets become your worst enemy. Little Timmy has to see his beloved pet dog be killed for the sake of his survival. The government has neglected to help anyone. No one sees the point in trying to help anyone else. All your life’s hopes and dreams are gone. You simply sit and take it all in before you’re either beaten, eaten, or die a slow painful death from lack of sunlight and nutrients. Fantastic video
So nice to know that pretty much my entire childhood, including Dick and Dom, Angellica Bell, Jake Humphrey and others would have been the last faces I see on TV before the impending doom.
What amazes me is that the sun hasn't risen but it still takes Auntie Beeb until 2:30 in the afternoon to tell anybody about it. Your TV license pounds sterling at work!
"It has been noted that the sun has not yet risen at the moment" cracks me up in how casual it is. Especially since they waited until 2:30 PM to announce it.
Definitely reminds me of “No Way Out” except the moon is drifting away instead of the sun (the sun vanished later) and humans become aggressive as well.
Plot Twist - This actually happened in an alternate universe yet somehow the same animals that turned aggressive evolved and became the next humans in this dark earth with the ability to withstand the complete darkness and night vision and recreate humanity.
The math teacher after realising that with no sun the math class will be cancelled Math teacher: Nuh uh The sun: OH SHI- *gets dragged back to its original location*
This has to be *the* scariest and most downright emotional analog horror-like video I have seen yet. The passion and work put into this was stunning. All I can say is wow. I could only imagine what would’ve happened, should this be real. Great job, you did amazing with this one.
You know how easy it is to make such video? Like, anyone can write a confusing text, add it on the bbc background, add an AI voice to speech it and that's all. Literally nothing special about it.

@@thxlogofan1712 We kind of have an audio drama of it. In Rose's quest to find the Doctor leading into The Stolen Earth, she comes across a parallel Earth alongside an alternate Clive Finch that has already faced the Reality Bomb's consequences destroying the sun. Her divorced but both living parents who have no daughter meet her and despite Pete's desperation to escape the fallen Earth, Jackie of that world gives Rose her device back to escape as that Earth dies. Needless to say, The Dimension Cannon (just like Turn Left) gets fucking depressing.
If this really happened, there would be nothing to stop our planet from becoming an uninhabitable ball of ice. We would survive for a little while, but not when our global temperatures would drop to a point where it becomes too cold to survive. At that point, every living thing on this planet would perish.
Are you sure we wouldn’t just adapt as a species? Wasn’t the global seed vault in Norway designed for just this purpose? Perhaps furnace heating units could be rerouted so that, as a temporary measure, single rooms could be heated the most and greenhouse environments could be used to sustain industrial farming. It would likely take longer than a month for humanity to perish from this disaster, since the sun likely won’t teleport to any remote place as if by magic, but the more likely scenario is that Earth gradually moves away from the sun like in “The Twilight Zone”.
@@aycc-nbh7289I’m not sure if we would even survive until we get into the vault. My science teacher talked about this once and he said something along the lines of that the earth would turn to ice within 5 minutes. It’s unlikely for humans to reach there so quickly and even if they do they most likely will not live long enough for humanity to evolve. Especially considering they’re spending all their time away from the thing they need to evolve to.
@@aycc-nbh7289the temperatures would be so cold we wouldn’t have the technology to combat them, think how cold Neptune or Pluto is. We would need a planetary amount of fusion energy to begin to address the problem
The Twilight Zone episode, "I am the Night - Color Me Black", was about a small town where the sky stayed dark on the day of an execution. The reason for the darkness turned out to be the people's hatred transforming from a metaphorical darkness into a literal one, in the town and other places around the world
There was another Twilight Zone episode, "The Midnight Sun", where the earth's orbit destabilized and was getting too close to the sun. Everyone was too hot, air conditioning couldn't keep up, all that. At the end, it's revealed it was all a fever dream of the main character -- in reality the planet was drifting AWAY from the sun and everything was freezing.
Happy Ending: “We are broadcasting to update you about the disappearance of the sun. We got information that some creature has captured the sun however someone has killed the creature and now the sun came back. We got 2 days to recover from the disaster we almost had. Normal programming will resume then. But for now, here’s some music from the Australian Broadcasting Company.” (Rage comes on)
Alternate ending: We regret to announce that the sun has come extremely close to Earth and will continue it's collision towards Earth. Temperatures will continue to climb past bearable heat waves. "I had a dream that the sun vanished..." "If only, son... If only. 😢"
If the sun suddenly disappeared, all the planets in our solar system would suddenly be slingshotted out into deep space in various directions. I dont think Earth would make it a few days, let alone a month.
Depends, the earth has natural heat within the core, we also invented some kind of UV lights which could be used to grow crops underground. Humanity could "live" if prepared but it would be like a struggle thousands would make it through
My thoughts exactly, if we have a month before mass extinction why is BBC signing off now?Damn it , the public needs its bread and circuses now more than ever!
Deuteronomy 18:10-11 - Let no one be found among you who consigns a son or daughter to the fire, or who is an augur, a soothsayer, a diviner, a sorcerer, one who casts spells, or one who consults ghosts or familiar spirits, or one who inquires of the dead
If this was actually real, NASA would more than likely know exactly what the heck happened for there to not be a sun, especially since the sun shines on Earth 100% of the time.
Do you know any bureaucracy to act in a timely manner lol? First, it would take time to determine the correct agency to look into the problen. Next, a carefully-crafted presentation has to be made to upper management, because bad news is a job killer. Finally, the alert message can be sent out. (Joking, but sort of not)

If the sun disappeared, the Earth and the other planets are things around the sun will move away from each other, and we would all die due to the debris hitting Earth or the lack of heat.
The atmosphere would still exist. blocking most if not all debris, humans could still adapt by moving to places close to geothermal places to stay warm, survive off non weather dependant places, indoor vertical farming and the ice that covers the ocean would insulate the water underneath
@@hulick6910 Earth has enough oxygen to last a long time (Aprox a million years if memory serves well), large trees have enough sugar to stay alive for maybe weeks as well, enough time to set up trees in the indoor farms
This must have been so scary for the people to expirence hearing that they are gonna die in one month, plus they must have been terrified about animals crashing into their home.
This is very meh. This isnt even physically possible, and there are seed banks and facilities on earth that would very much be utilized in this scenario, its not an instant game over. If youre gonna make EAS scenarios, do your due dilligence and actually make scenarios that are real and believable because this feels very slapped together for the sake of joining in on a trend for easy views.
