Picture this. It's 2009. I'm 10 years old, I had just woken up early to watch the F1. I go downstairs and my Dad is waiting, he's just made a bacon sandwich for us each. We turn on the tv to the BBC coverage of the Australian GP and this is playing. Ahh Good times, F1 hasn't been the same for me since SkySports took over the main coverage.
Yup, i would wake up on a Saturday/Sunday and that would be thing I’d look forward to, that music and the roar of a good engine. It became almost the theme of the weekend
I wonder how many Brits have been fined for speeding while innocently listening to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album in their car (this theme is the Outro of track 7 - 'The Chain' ). It's impossible to hear to this without putting your foot flat to the floor and imagining Murray Walker shouting 'Go! Go! Go!'.
Iain McLaren well i listen to it whenever i enter online f1 tournaments and i always do a million times better when listening to this it somehow improves my lap times by nearly a second
Some say he single handedly changed 4 tyres faster than a pit crew whilst eating a cheese sandwich, its not The Stig but it is The Stig's Formula 1 cousin
Funny how back in the day F1 was on BBC2 then when ITV poached it off the BBC in 1997 all broadcasters wanted it. After ITV it went to BBC1 then Channel 4 and now Sky Sports F1 with Channel 4 having the highlights.
This. This right here. THIS is the pinnacle intro for the Beeb's F1 coverage. I'd love to see them go one better, and yet -- I'd be satisfied if this were the best, too!
I have loved this song ever since my mum used to rave about it and believe me i was most excited to hear it was back..Awesome Bassline... Play at Maximum Volume..
Remember being so excited to watch the v8’s the blistering Sebastian vettle, jenson button winning his title a young lew Hamilton and Alonso pushing his Ferrari to the limits with kimi in lotus ah the good times of f1. 2012, 2007, 2010, 2008 and 2009 were all amazing years for f1 wish I could go back.
@Kiasko They won't be full replays, but extended highlights. In other words, we'll be getting between 1 hour - 1 hour and a half of race coverage dependant on how exciting the race is (with of course the F1 panel discussing it).
