David Symonds. Used to have a name to his daily show on R1 from the first year on air. "The Nation's Number One Pop Party" was the original, from 02.10.1967, followed by "The Monday Mover", "The Tuesday Tea-Time Trip", "The Wednesday Work-out", "The Thursday Thing" and finally "The Weekend Starts Here".
The good old days when Radio one was actually good to listen to, I would look forward to Sunday and listen to the chart rundown. Now those days are gone, some of DJ's we listened to are gone, the music is now dreadful as it doesn't relate to me.
Mia Maker, thank you for your question, I detect a hint of sarcasm in it though. I don't listen to Radio 2 now, the best is gone. I've not listened to Radio in the mornings since Terry Wogan left in 2009.
I think Radio 2 has improve over the years, Most of the presenters on the old Radio 2 either has retired or passed on, The likes of Terry Wogan Jimmy Young and Derek Jameson, God bless their souls, Unfortunely nothing last forever,
