BBC Radio 2 - 22 April 1990 

The rot of Radio 1 of 1993 has arrived in 2022 for Radio 2. Melodies for you and Family Favourites were the staple of quality for Sundays

Radio 2 used to be an amazing station and I had it on most of the day. Sadly, it's terrible these days, and I haven't listened for years.

I despair at Radio Two 30 years later.

What a delightful composite of Radio 2 output,(now some 33 years later) including 3 giants of BBC radio Baker,Dell & Carrington; interestingly the latter reminding the listener of the importance of 'Live Orchestral' music e.g the NDO; Now largely non existent. My personal favourites- Alan Dell's prog.'Sounds Easy' and 'Sing Something Simple',with its over 10million fans. Also take note- problems in Nigeria and on the 5yr old M25 don't appear much changed today! Radio 2 is now a 'NO GO' wavelength for me and millions of 'older' listeners' Sad,very Sad!

The king singers always takes me back to driving home from visiting my parents and siblings, sadly all long since dead.19:30

The variety of programmes and perhaps even more the ability of each of these presenters is quite amazing when compared to today.

As a 16 year old listening to radio 2 in 1989 I couldn’t stand it! Now I wish I could go back to it😪

The music and presenters (and shows) were better than than now!

This bears no resemblance to Radio 2 nowadays. I did know Graham Knight and his wife, but not through the radio.

Glory days before WOKE ruined it . Well done the trendies. Ruined it for the rest of us .
