Two surprises for me on watching this footage. Firstly that a lot of stadiums had empty seats, all three games shown had crowds circa 13,500. Secondly look at the table, Norwich, 24 played , 42 points. Probably lost near enough a quarter to a third of their games played. The competition was so much better then. Ok the quality is way better theses days, someone like city or Liverpool after 24 games would probably rack up 60 points I’m guessing, but football back then was much better imho.
Oh the IRONY! Bobby Gould complaining about a referee ruling out a goal because he'd already stopped play for an infringement on the team who 'scored'! Er... wasn't Gould the Wimbledon manager in 1988? You know... Peter Beardsley... Wembley... goal disallowed for a foul ON Beardsley? Didn't hear Gould complaining about that absurdity while Dave Beasant was holding the Cup aloft, did we? Funny ol' world.
