This is in no way meant as a derogatory comment but a genuine concern and also impressive observation on Naomi Visser. She is so tiny and its amazing how she has the strength to do those amazing tumbling passes. Beautiful to watch but her thin stature has me concerned for her wellbeing as she looks unwell. I hope she is ok and is being looked after. I know there is a chinese gymnast Shang Chunsong who was incredibly petite but was amazing. I think she is retired now. But she was malnourished as a child because of coming from a poor family. It's remarkable how she was able to do this sport and she did it for her brother who is blind and all her earnings have been for him and her family.
Gotta love all the gymnasts. They don't hesitate to offer a congratulations to gymnasts from a competing nation. Back in the '90's competing gymnasts would be sitting with vacant eyes. They gave fake wooden hugs to the competing nation at best.
The best floor from the competition wasn't there after all. Flavia Saraiva. 😭 I hope she bring back the same music next year. I simply love love her routine.
@@jamm1227 I commented my concerns on a video of Flavia from the Paris WC and people accused me of hating on her. No, I can see as clear as day that the poor woman has ongoing ankle injuries! Would have loved to see her in the mix here.
@@chewiegym2765 its so frustrating smh. The same thing happened with Larissa Iordache. Such a lovely gymnast but its like they just did not pace her right with all those ankle issues. Just let them heal. Even if they have to miss a year or year and a half of competing. Extending their career and health in the long run should be the obvious choice here.

I have to be honest I was surprised at Jordan's score. I thought she should've scored much higher, personally I thought she did the best. As far as Jade goes, I think they need to work a lot harder on artistry. She's improved a lot, but there really isn't much dance in her routine at all and I think that the judges hammer her for that. I'm glad Rebeca got a medal but I was SO hoping she'd win. And no Flavia 😩
Jade has artistry issues, yes. But I don't think it's for lack of working hard on it, and she has improved enormously over the last few years. Hopefully she can continue to improve, and I'm hoping Chellsie--who is great at artistry and an experienced judge--can help Jade hack her routine a bit better for some of the artistry requirements in the new code.

It's a shame how they constantly hammer her on artistry deductions. I really think the judges consistently under score her.
I love Jessica Gadirova. Really difficult passes, very clean and precise dance elements, good choreography and a lot of charisma. She really is so so talented, but this was not a routine that should have crowned her World Champion. 8.2 E for a routine with very visible errors and landing deductions on every single pass? I feel like these make discerning audiences rapidly turn on a gymnast because they feel they're receiving unfair treatment. It tarnishes her journey, unfortunately.
I also feel that Jordan has matured so much artistically. I remember that before she had a clunkier style and now her dance is much more flowy. I really thought she should have won the gold here although I love Gadirova.

I have to admit when I watch the Olympics, I really look forward to women's gymnastics more than anything else. I love how much our women have improved over the years.
I understand they want more "artistry" we all do. But artistry can be subjective and the code should strive to have more validity among competitors. Fancy dancing shouldn't get a higher reward than complex tumbling.
I don't wanna see more "artistry". I wanna see them tumble spectacularly with fitting music to highlight it. The "dancing" should just be a way for them to regain power for the next tumble imho. But I totally agree on the rest.
Like especially at the end I enjoyed jade's dancing. I feel like they've gone tougher since the Olympics since people were mad cuz jade had simple dance and still won but idk.
Talk of Artistry I would be ok with Jessica’s score and win ….. if her artistry was pair as for example with Russian Gymnast Mustafina. When she did floor her routine was never about tumbling but her moves and artistry was EVERYTHING !!! Here I see Nothing special to get such a score , it’s not jer fault but smells like favoritism
this was so clearly biased toward jessica 😭 im not one to call overscoring when my fav loses but this just doesn’t make sense even if you don’t know much about the sport. Jordan or Jade should have won regardless of if Jade’s artistry isn’t the best. Even I think Jessica was close to being on par with them, but nowhere near a 14.200 when everyone else is scoring 13.833???
She actually did a whip+tucked full in (To be honest I'm glad she didn't compete the chuso at quals,that injury could have been worse and she could've fell just like Paris WC)
I look forward to the Olympics every year they come around and I especially look forward to watching women’s gymnastics. It wasn’t until the last couple of years that I started being interested in the European championships and worlds. I am so happy to see countries at the top of the podium in team finals and individual all around finals that I have not seen before.
Jade has upped her game on floor. Her artistry has vastly improved. I could hardly watch her routine at the Olympics… this one is very nice. Jessica had very clean chases and dance and her artistic work was great. Honestly her landings were not clean. I really don’t think that she was .5 ahead of Chiles and Carey…

I don't understand how Carey and Jessica Gadirova both have a 6.0 difficulty in this final. Jade completes 4 passes and all the required leaps/turns, while Gadirova only has 3 less difficult tumbling passes and the same turn/leap requirements. Dance should have nothing to do with the difficulty, only execution. It doesn't make any sense how they have the same D score.
Dance elements have a D value so they add to the difficulty score. And when combined they have bonus. So they count to the difficulty as do the tumbles. And it makes total sense since they are extremely difficult to do well. Take Rebeca for example. She is more consistent with her tumbles, as a sky high Cheng and yet misses more than hits her Memmel turn. It all has to do with working to the best of your abilities. Jessica is very clean in her dance elements so she favours them to build up her D score.

I hope Chiles doesn’t get discouraged in elite gymnastics the way Simone did. Albeit for different reasons, I feel those two rarely get the scores they deserve!
I really like this podium but i really don’t get the E scores, i am no way an expert but i thought Martina and especially Naomi’s routines were very clean so I don’t get why they scored lower than 8???
@@rosee7011 They aren't talking about difficulty, they're specifically talking about the execution scores. (I haven't seen the routines yet so I don't have an opinion on how they were scored yet).
i also thought martina’s floor was one of the cleanest ones and it also had a fair amount of difficulty too and good artistry. she should’ve been higher imo.
Chiles tried the Gogean but it was short. That cost her 0.3. And she didn't even get D credit. She was an idiot to try and upgrade for EF when she's literally never hit that leap.
These women did amazing routines, however, I am shocked that Jessica Gadirova won the gold. Her landings on the tumbling passes were not clean and steady. The level of difficulty was there, but I don’t understand how she outscored Jordan AND Rebecca?
I'll never understand that high note from Gadirova. It was not deserved, throughout the championship there were marks above the fair for British athletes. Rebecca e Chiles and are the true moral champions.
Ok….just got done watching this…..How did Gadirova win? Based on the rules, she had a .3 step/hop on each one of her tumbling. The last pass was pretty short of rotation. Here is how I saw the podium: Gold - Chiles Silver - Andrade Bronze - Visser/Carey I could be wrong. I look forward to seeing what others think.

Read the reddit and Twitter threads they're hilarious 😂 alot of ppl were like did you see Jessica's and her coach's face they KNEW it wasn't Gold Medal 🏅 worthy, those landings were bad. Jordan was SO gracious about it. 🤗. No one is showing that routine in practice for anyone to copy.
Jordan should have WON…im not even bias but she has the dance chore, difficult, artistry, and technique….if you swapped score with Gadirova it would make sense.
How did this gadirova routine get the highest marks? She only has three stunts and in the three she landed with imbalances having to jump forwards and backwards, that was stolen, Jade and Andrade deserved more.
having only 3 tumbling passes helps her execution score since there are less deductions than there would be if there were 4. a lot about execution scores is clever routine construction which Gadirova has here
@@emmar6304 Having three passes helps in the execution but loses in the difficulty and we know that both are important for the note, but it turns out that their execution was not good, if it were to justify this, all three were bad, none of them pinned, all with backward jumps or forward, andrade and jade had better landings and others similar to hers, and the routine of the two was more difficult, so where did all that note of hers come from? for me she was privileged because she was an athlete from the host house, a stolen note, Jade and Andrade deserved more.
@@tiagoribeiro6759 jade has the maximum artistry deductions you can have in this code which is why her score is low. team GB have done good work with their floor routines by minimising built in deductions and having bonuses for artistry. also just because a country is hosting a championship does not mean they overscore their gymnasts on purpose. the host country doesn't matter because obviously the panel of judges come from all different countries in the world, not just the UK as in this case
@@emmar6304 You talk so much about her performance, but they weren't good in the arrivals and landings, I still think her grade was too high than she actually deserved, I'm not a judge, but a dance to overcome all those difficulties presented by Jade and Andrade is something difficult, the artistic is important I know, Andrade also has a good artistic besides the difficulties, he continued thinking that Gadirova had a grade above what he deserved.
the only making jess win was the fact that she can dance. she should not have been on the podium at all. jordan, jade and Rebecca should hve been the top 3. judges were favoring the dancing a lot

Her routine was less difficult than in the Olympics. Had she done the same tumbling from that competition and landed it, Jade probably would have run away with it.

LoL I’m normally not one to even question judges scoring, but this was such an obvious and blatant display of favoritism, that I’d be crazy not to question if the judges were actually seeing the same routines that I was. Artistry is so very subjective and I think it leaves the door open for this to happen more frequently with higher scores being awarded based on the popularity of the gymnast. That being said, I do LOVE Jess G. but this just wasn’t a Gold (or even silver) medal worthy performance in my opinion.

Plus there seems to be a self-fulfilling prophecy like "Oh, look, they’re performing in front of their home crowd. I'm sure they'll surpass themselves with that kind of support!" It’s obvious that the judges was waiting to give Jessica the highest score. They would gave her twin the silver medal had not she step out of bounds. The judges made sure not to give any of the other gymnast 14 points to stage gold and silver medals. She had obvious flaws. Jordan should won. Yes Jessica did good routine to get a medal but not gold. It’s all politics!!!

Yeah. I think Jessica probably had the Americans beat on artistry but all her her passes were a bit sloppy, didn't hit 180 on all her split jumps...score was quite generous.

So surprised that Jordan's execution score was so much lower than Jessica's when I thought they were about the same 🤨 maybe Jessica deserved the win but there's no way she was 4 tenths better than Jordan with significant landing deductions on each pass
I feel really bad for Jessica who is stuck in the middle of the backlash. While I believe the complaints are valid and the judges were off in their judgement, I think this amount of criticism has to be hard to read. I truly wish we could have had fair and objective judging to avoid all of this for the athletes sake. **Also side note, I agree with people that artistry can be very subjective. Each gymnast is going to have their own style of dance that fits their floor routine and personality.
The first tumbling of Jessica (double twisting double back) was not correctly executed in the air…. Her body was straight in the beginning… a bit weird.. did she get deducted for the her score?
Ridiculous!!! The theft of the century. A routine quite poor in receptions and amplitude could never take that score neither in execution nor in difficulty, Jade and Rebeca were stolen
I agree however she really lacked difficulty 3 passes with one being a double twist don’t know wether dance and performance and leaps should take over that much so that the tumbles are not as difficult as we have seen in floor finals before
@@Ryan.harvey123 her D score is helped by 2 D spins each with a 0.1 cv value (so basically 2 E elements). She still fufills the tumbling requrirments so it shouldnt matter where her D score comes from.

What……. I counted about 8-9 tenths on Jess’s first pass alone and she somehow ended up with a 14.2 🤥 Love her so so much but that’s beyond ridiculous. 13.9 at BEST in my opinion
Jordan and Rebeca are on another level with how light and effortless they make everything from tumbling to dance look 😍. Sadly it looks like they will need to adjust their style to appease these boring ass judges if they want to win though lol

This focus on artistry is really hurting the most deserving and powerful gymnasts. Let’s be honest, most of us watch to see massive skills be thrown and be scored accordingly. Now it feels like you can have the easiest routine but as long as you dance pretty you win 😬

This is the first time I ll say this judges were on to some sht or they were payed cuz Jessica is not good in execution terms and that routine was worth 3rd place at most, to be honest
Excuse my ignorance, but I have a question. Do gymnasts need to change their routines each year? I'm a little confused to see Rebeca doing the same routine as she did in the Olympics this year, so I don't really understand how all that goes. (And sorry if I missed any changes on the routine, but at least I remember the music was the same! :o )
They pretty much have the same routine and upgrade it over the years. You can watch a video about the evolution of Ally Raisman's routine as an example
Most of the elements of the routine are the same, but some gymnasts change the songs every quad and i don't think many change the song every year. Some gymnasts keep the same song for many years like Shang Chunsong. Rebeca had too many injuries over the last quad so she just kept the same song from 2018 until now. I heard rumors she already changed it for something new!

Jordan did not get credit for that hop full. Her for dropped 3 quarters in but ev erything else was done way better than Carey. Carey pikes her body in every tumble and took 3 steps on one pass. That should have been much lower than Jordan.
She did actually, but then they lower her score for it. The message was very clear " don't question us" . They also denied Andrade's inquiry. It was a strange day

I'm still mad about this floor final. Judges should feel ashamed, they killed the sport and the championship with their absurd and biased scoring. It shouldn't be acceptable.
