When I was a child, being told we were going to Pontins rather than Butlins was a massive disappointment

it amused me seeing the sign for the wick ferry camp at the start of the film. that camp closed over 30 years ago!

It breaks my heart to see this. When I was a kid in the 1960s/70s, we had dozens of holidays at pontins which were clean, safe and fun. Then when I had my own children I took them to Pontins with no problems. Its such a shame.

the place is a dump, if any foreign tourists stay here they will think Britain is a 3rd world country! Its an embarrassment. Needs new management ASAP!

I took my kids to pontins last november. We were upgraded to a club apartment which was very clean. Although I did complain about the swimming pool. It was so cold that after going in it once on the first day, I spent the rest of the week with a bad throat. Kids loved the park area and the arcade. There wasnt much entertainment as it was the last week of the season. I only paid about £80 for the holiday and it was nice to be away. My kids enjoyed themselves which is all that matters.

I've been going to Brean Sands around 2 or 3 times a year since I was a baby and I love it. I've never had a chalet like they have shown on the previous episode and the place has defiantly improved form 2011! The Bluecoats are so friendly and the bar staff are easy to talk to. The place does need a lick of paint in some places and does need a good clean in some areas (the swimming pool, fun factory floor etc) but overall it's brilliant and I love coming here. Every one makes you feel so welcome!

I just got back from pontins camber sands this was my 4th and final visit. The refurbished apartments are disgraceful. The problem with pontins isn't the entertainment or the front of house staff. It's the cleaners and engineering staff they font give a dam. The cleaners need all retraining as they haven't got a clue and as for the head of cleaning...well a little customer service skill wouldnt go a miss.

i was like 4 and I remember there was some show with a large group of kids watching this show, i didnt want to join in and my mum pushed me to. i sat with the crowd and a 5 year old looked at me, i cried and ran away thinking only selected kids could join in.

Pontins is still getting complaints now mess glass everywhere this new company haven’t got a clue it looks like

Why didn't Ponitins ever think of closing half or all of the branches during the slow months so they can refurbish them and replace the stuff in the rooms?

I went to camber. The room was clean minus some silicone mould (can't clean that, you have to replace the seal) and the floor under the bed was dirty but I swept it up. We had a amazing week and I'd go back anytime.

Anyone else come back to this after the announcement that Camber Sands has closed?

I love pointins I go every year to the camber sand s one I've been going since I was 3 weeks old

I live in Burnham On Sea and booked my daughter and her children into Breansand Pontins a few years ago I complained about the state of the chalet which included loose wires hanging out of the wall which I was told don’t worry they are not live. Still hearing issues all these later in our local papers ….ps I have past exams in electrical engineering

I loved pontins as a kid but i don't think I'll be booking a holiday there in 2024.

I nearly went there but after reading reviews I thought No way! I always stay at other places by there.

its such a shame what happened to pontins from 1983 to 1990 my dad worked for pontins blackpool and Morecambe we would go on holiday thier during the summer and was some of the best holidays we ever had chalets were clean and towards the end they were quite modern everything made the holiday pretty amazing why they let the place get so run down i never know I went back recently to southport talk about shock to the system i cannot put my finger on it and i dont know if all them years ago i was blinkered to the problems but the place felt so run down and they had invited the dregs of society to come along you know they type the ones who use 4 letter words ever other word, they dont know we have phones cause they like to shout half way across the car park at midnight cannot wait to use a toilet when a door way will be easier. and there was so much wrong with the place even from the moment we was booking in there was a crowd of people asking to be moved chalet i remember when i was a kid and we went in to the chalet it had a nice warm feeling but considering id gone back 20 years later and the room i had in the 90's was better than the room we was given in 20 years later I simply felt so uncomfortable that we went home a day earlier and we have no intention of ever going back I think back to all them amazing times i had and how bad it has become now the sad thing is right now we need a good british holiday camp i wish they would rise the price by £200 and update the rooms ,food ,seating area ,better swimming pool , better entertainment and if they want to know what they could have maybe they should book a week in a center parks and with some adjustments they could really improve the camp

I've been pontins every year for a while now and it's brilliant there the staff , apartments and everything it's amazing

I'm going to Butlins this year, went last year, Had a good time, and went to Pontins Southport and Presatyn was so worse but had a god time, didn't let anything get in my way

Just put price up by £10-£20 and put it towards maintenance and decorating cleaning

at camber there are apartments that have white plastic over all of the glass and i dont know if anyone is in them

We once went full board at a Pontins & I am sorry to have to say we stank all week!!!! We kept farting so badly, we could have killed within a 20-yard circle. It was awful, no one would stand anywhere near us, no one would sit anywhere near us, it was that bad we found it a chore to be each other's company if we had gone to a suweridge works they would have kicked us out. It took us two weeks to improve & get rid of the smell after we left the camp, no offense Pontins but you need to improve your full board catering

I went there and a the children's play bit there is a hole k IT IS STILL THERE OMG it is 2017

i didnt even notice alot of the hazards when i went to camber cuz i didnt really look for them

I had a great holiday at pontins Southport I was staying in a clean club apartment and I had lots of fun I dont know what people are completing about

i went there for a day there was only 1 go kart opperating in summer, the pool was closed because someone was sick in the pool

go to prestatyn it has no sink holes no bad apartments /bungalos

Pontins at hemsby has been abandoned for almost 9 years

when i went here the staff were horrid in the arcade, the barriers on the top balconys were unstable , the booking was broken and the entertainment was non exsistant

It isn't £9.50. You've got to pay transport , arcade and food.

I go to that park every year in the summer the last time I went all the dinner places weren't open all the time even though the staff were nicer

Just got back - isn't the best of places but things have DEFINITELY changed for the better. Staff are friendly, but the place still looks like a prison camp, and needs a major repaint!

well was gonna try pontins but based on this i think ill stick to butlins anyway butlins was the pioneer so will always exceed in this field although i do hope the new owners get the camps sorted and the company has every success

The issues have been sorted concerning the hazards my kids loved it there, regarding apartments go for club you get what you pay for, another good note the beach us beautiful, I would go there just for that it is a beautiful area I would definitely go again and again.

IV just came back from pontins in brean it's was wicked kids loved it. are rooms was really nice bedding was clean stuff was polite. food was nice defo go again!!!

Is the one in Brean sands that bad or is it better

I've never been here and wouldn't ever plan to go, it looks like they should just tear the whole place down and begin again.

i went to pointins in 2013 and 2012 and 2011 4 times each year never had a problem evrythink was fine

Camber is on for me and my family had no problems there

each time u go it just seems to get worse. never agian last year 2012 in the summer of july myself, little sister and a family friend stayed in the newest chalet and there was no hot water at all, mouldy walls that where half painted, the bed sheets had blood stains on, wet laminated flooring, ripped leather sofa and worse of all one evening myself and a friend were asleep and woken up by the mattress becoming soaking wet from out of the blue just dirty, smelly water. DON'T GO

pontins is improving they went to the smallest of the camps fred pontins first ever camp bren sands that camp could do with some work try Southport or prestatyn sands money has been put in to those camps and I have see improvements pontins holiday marker since 1997

used to go to the scooter rallys at Camber........ had a great weekend , but the place was in a really bad way then, the rooms were terrible , and none ofthe staff cared ............ miss the Rallys not the place

Well when i went to brean sands i didnt really have a problem it was just really dusty with spiders next prestatyn in 2012 the built a new block of chalets the is loads of complaints about ants i mean loads and in one room poeple left clothes behind the cleaner dose not lock the door and when i was a brean sands we got back from llanduduno and there was a note saying get out of this building its unsafe and there was no one else in the chalet block i have also had a spider nest so i am not describing pontins in a bad way all poeple are doing is makeing it a trash when really they shoudnt because would you spend aload of money on butlins or have the same thing but alot cheaper?

What did I just see ? That saw though 😂😬 it's like a holiday in hell & you get a re-spawn if you die ...it's as if the staff layed out all these traps because of all the complaints so they have given up & decided to kill all the haters. (Customers)

Pontins was on Watchdog again today and they were at the Southport resort. Fucking hell, that place was an absolute SHITHOLE!

Pontins is epic. A fence is therefor a reason

I used to work at the Pakefield Pontins up until recently and can tell you and show you loads of things that are seriously dangerous!

If you go to Pontins or any other such hellhole, you get what's coming to you.

It like they sneak a dog into there chalet. One of my cousin have asthma. I thought one side was pet only and the other side no pet. Like the same with smoking.

we spent 900 on the holiday and the only good thing was the beach and out of the resort ive been going to camber for 11 years somehow u think it will get better with their grants but never happens

Everyone get to Butlins, better accommodation, swimming pool and entertainment for that matter

we go pontins in camber with my kids a lot. yes it is a shit hole but kids love it, they dont see what we do so i dont mind. also for the money you pay you cant expect much. other option is butlins but be prapare to pay a fortune. at least at camber there is a lovely beach to play so all good

Pointins camber sands is cool been two years in a row and lived it!!!! Bream not so clean room wise had to complain to get it cleaned.

Podded should be like Barry Island demolished the place it build generic House's it estate.

At the chalet there have. They could have more entertainment for adult and kids. At every pontins that. I have been to.

Ok I'm just leaving camber sands pontins it's not like this at all I stayed in a classic 2 apartment the outdoor parks are in good condition and safe the staff was helpful and friendly there are extending the entertainment for kids this I'd my second time here.
