I had a shocking service from an electrician who was paid in full then his bodge job became evident. He refused to return to do the job he invoiced for. I had to pay again to correct his shoddy workmanship. He's had 6 fake call-outs / time wasting quotes so far. There'll be more next year, 100%!
Chris king is the bollocks one of the best gas engineers ive ever met. He taught me when i went to college he actually owns the college very clever man.
Don’t get too hung up on Corgi registration or Gas Safe as it’s now known there are plenty of registered gas fitters out there who are just a dangerous as those that are not registered.
The biggest crook on the programme is the motorcycle driver.Hes out and about trying to catch dodgy people and he's one of them .Hypocrisy at its best.
British Gas would've condemned your boiler & tried to sell you a new one. The scamming thieves tried to do that to me 2 years ago claiming they couldn't get the parts, they could, stock items. Gave em 24 hours to fix it or I'd report em, still going strong today 👍
I'm a gas engineer of 24 years and can confirm British gas are con artists! I know alot of the lads that worked for them and they are told to actively look for faults/ problems and condemn boilers. Absolutely disgusting.
And that is why I have become a jack of all trades. I do not believe ANY tradesman. Yes, it has cost me a several thousand pounds to buy all necessary tools and after many hours on RU-vid University, I can competently change, fix or amend everything around the house and car. Never paid more then a nominal fee for MOT (20 years old banger), done the entire bathroom including all copper soldering, wall insulation, tiling; fence building, ground work, etc, etc.. I think, I have saved thousands and I am very happy with my skills. I even received a trade card at my local supplier :-)
Mybuider is a good website to find reputable traders. Each traders is reviewed and they need reputable feedback to win jobs so have an incentive to do a good job for future business.
Unfortunately, all trades have been dumbed down with new materials and lack of good quality supervision, in my day we had a clerck of works , and if he wanted something changed, it got changed, some of the standard of work i see these days are just appalling, no pride, no fucks given, no proper training passed down by competant tradesmen as they don,t have time because prices are tight, no proper apprenticeships, so they make you have to get someone who has a "" ticket" for the job, that can hold you to ransom, and we get invaded by workers from abroad who can,t speak english, but are qualified?? Joke
@@thescrutineer7022 seeing as the average brit can only speak English, while the average European can speak at least 3 languages including English, I'd say it proves the racism
This happened to one of my clients. Her TV was pixellating and couldn’t get any signal. She called an antenna trades person. They replaced her antenna and charged her $900. She paid and they left. She turned her TV on and still had the same problem. She contacted me as she was at her wits end. I went over there and had a look. I found the problem was a faulty cable from her TV to the wall socket. I replaced the cable and there you go. Problem solved. The cable cost only $15.
We once had such a crap wiring job done on our aerial circuitry that you had to keep the main living room TV turned on at the mains permanently, else the signal was poor elsewhere in the house. 20 years on and I still don't understand what they did or how they screwed it up so badly.
I love the throwaway comedic one liners & humour Matt's got; 'Frugal as french fries' lol. What would he have done if he didn't write to the Beebs about his mum's washing machine? Maybe stand-up C, comedy acting or something.. Anyone, anyone - any sugg's?
@Steve Ruddick Who said it has anything to do with this video? What video was I supposed to post them comment on, the one that was a joke and doesn't exist? Whats your problem you some kind of BBC white knight online justice warrior? I bet you're one of these weirdos that pays your TV licence 5 years up-front
@Steve Ruddick Oh the irony in you suggesting I'm the one triggered when you're here kicking off about a joke comment. Pot calling the kettle black much
I am glad to say I have never had this problem, but in any case I would never pre pay, even a deposit for job. That's a red alert right there. Love the vids! Good job!
Constant misuse of the title "Engineer" It took me (and many like me) a Five year apprenticeship and Four years block release Uni study to earn that title.
@@samoday2992 Someone with true qualifications in a REAL Engineering discipline granted by a registered Engineering Academic body not self designating media types or people that just play with computers and cannot even use a soldering iron.
@@MegaBoilermaker hahaha funny you should say that . My friend considers himself an engineer but has no idea what end to hold a spanner . But he can draw pictures on a Computer .
Yeah it's really shitty that genuine decent RGIs are getting screwed over too by cowboys, its not just the customers but the hard working well trained guys too.
A lot of gas engineers never had an apprenticeship. They did a fast track course, passed the m/c choice papers and passed their assessments. Doesn't mean they have much idea, but they are still legal. You can be qualified, even if you have never serviced a boiler. Scary.
It's not called Corgi any more. It's called GasSafe.I heard a rumour that Her Maj has just lost her last corgi. Trust me , I'm a plumber... but not GasSafe. Like Her Maj... I gerrin' old.
Well that's great news that the old lady got half her money back! She must be over the moon about ONLY paying £75 for a 5p washer !! Happy days indeed!!
Telltale signs that your boiler repair man is a complete bellend; "...the back eyelid pullers seem to have broke..." "...I'm going to have to re-connect the dog lead..." "...and take the cat for a walk..." "...someone's stuck an egg in it" "...the egg-form's gone"
He is not holding a PCB as it holds components, it is therefore an electronic module. A PCB is just a board with nothing but tracks, holes and zero wires.
Fraud? These fuckers get off scot-free every time so what does it matter if they weren't paid? As long as we know that they had an agreement - to be paid for the work that was done then surely the viewer would be satisfied by this
To be fair he probably got one days work a month off them, imagine declaring that one day and then getting sanctioned for 3 months In my experience it is the dole who swindles poor unemployed people, including starving actors who may pick up a days telly here and there
I wonder what happens to the money they give to these crooks? I’d love to see them get bogus money .... they would have a bit to say about that, but it would be JUSTICE!
Being a gas safe engineer (used to be corgi) these rouge traders absolutely disgust me. What a complete misuse of trust to the customer. Very bad business.
The year after i passed selection for the British SAS... The memories come flooding back! Some good an some bad memories but thats military life for you...
Put the dog lead on and take the cat for a walk...the eggfrom's gone...someone's put an egg in the boiler...what the hell is this man even talking about? Is he a mentalist (serious question not making light of mentalistic illness)?
