The thing is... he didn't know! Thomaz had no idea he was on the air during the entire segment as there was a communication fail between prod and the studio - he only found out afterwords. Not the first time the BBC have done this - Huw Edwards was shown for a minute and a half before the hour when production switched to the studio early rather than show the BBC News countdown sequence. It only went out on BBC News Channel - he was preparing to go out on the main evening news on BBC ONE and BBC News Channel.
Best of his moments was on Radio4, he talked about Glustery Bales and the continuity announcer laughed and said "that was Shamus Taffernacker with the weather"
Awwwww he can make a million mistakes in his career but I couldn't give a damn, he's so cute and cuddly in that suit, and so hot and handsome when he does the Sunday (Countryfile) forecast in casual attire! Never fails to make me laugh when it does go wrong! Love him xx
Which BBC region was this broadcast? BBC1 North West (Winter Hill) only saw ~28 seconds after Beijing was lost. The rest of the lost programme was a fault message.
