I think you will love it. The 6.5 Grendel is amazing.I own a BCA 6.5 Grendel with a 18 inch stainless fluted barrel side charger. This last winter I assembled a 20 inch barrel with a side charging upper from BCA. The extras are a CMC 3.5 Trigger and a lightweight handguard. I had some gas issues but since have been resolved. Oh By the way I love you paint job on your rifle.

Shot a .284 MOA group this week with a $204 20" side-charging SS fluted heavy .223 Wylde BCA upper with a $53 MidTen AO 4-12x40 scope shooting Frontier 68-grain BTHP. Stock complete Anderson lower that was $99 w' free shipping. .15" (same hole) @ 50 yards. Best group I've ever shot out of any rifle.
That’s awesome! These uppers have been hated on a lot, but from what I see (both first had and second hand) they’re great for the price and are usually worth their weight in U.S. dollars.
I have 5 BCA 6.5 grendel uppers from 10.5 "-24" all are extremely accurate! My 20"&24"both hit 12" plates @1000 yds! Anything further than that I use my 24" BCA 6.5 Creedmoor- have shot out to a mile with it! U can't lose with BCA !! 33 uppers & all tack drivers! Capt J
I agree. For the performance you get at the price you can’t go wrong. All these people that hate BCA because of “bad QC” are the same people that don’t send them back to get it fixed. Haven’t had any problems out of mine so far!
I agree with you there! I have repeatedly outshot guys with high dollar guns with my BCA 20"6.5 grendel, PSA lower, magpul ubr,Arken sh4 4x16x50- less than $1200.00 entire rig& I can smoke them just using wolf steel case 100g fmjbt out to 1000yds! If I use quality ammo, my 5shot groups @ 600yds are less than 1" ! From a " budget " gun! My ass! I have a 7.62x39 BCA upper that has over 10,000 rds through it& never a problem! Compared to a PSA KS47 that I wish I'd never bought, won't fire more than 3in a row without jamming, sent back 3times- gave up! BCA is the BEST 7.62x39 AR on the market, especially the g2 side charging! Capt J

It's hard to find a load that heavy, Alexander arms & Hornaday both load a 129g sst, eld,but I have better luck with 115- 123g loads for hunting. The Barnes vortx 115 tsx is the deadliest round, Fort Smith TUI 123g is a great hunting round to& incredibly accurate! Try them out! Capt J
@@jasonmartin5606 yeah I really want to get the federal premium Berger otm 130 grain, but trying to find a box of those is impossible right now. Sadly my Grendel only likes the heavier loads so I’ll be spending the extra money to get those I suppose…
I’ve got an 18” bca upper in stainless steel. It’s paired with a LPVO for hunting here in New England. The Grendel has zero problem dropping everything but moose up here. Hand loading goes a long way. 90grn varmageddons and 100grn ttsx do all the work I need. Hits hard. Very accurate.
Sounds like a nice setup man! I finally found some in stock 129 grain SST Grendel ammo loaded by Alexandria arms that, if they’re accurate enough, I’ll be using as a general use round for everything from coyotes to white tail.
They’re awesome man. Just do your research unless you plan on reloading for it. Not many people make anything above a 120 grain in Grendel and most of the rifles/uppers (like mine) have a twist rate that’s better for heavier bullets.
Right? It was designed to be a big game rifle in an ar15 package. Then again there’s still people out there that think a creedmoor can’t kill a deer so it doesn’t surprise me much.
Oh yeah that’s the purpose for this upper. I wanted something in an Ar15 platform for shooting targets out to 800. I still need to get a good suppressor and find a good load. Turns out the only ammo mine likes are 129-130 grains… so pretty impossible to find ammo given only 2 companies make Grendel in that weight range.
Thanks man! It really just depends on which ar 10 you get, but it’s definitely harder to get a good ar10 for cheap. That’s why I stick with the ar 15 platform.
I’ll have to watch that for sure! The 6.5 Grendel doesn’t get the love it deserves. It’s a very capable round if you hand load and still really good with factory loads. Once I get my loading setup together I’m gonna see what all I can get out of it.
@@danalim9670 I’ve noticed it seems very popular for hog hunters. I know one thing for sure though, once I get my load worked out for it I’ll be going after anything I can with it! The light recoil in an accurate and heavy hitting package is hard to find.
plus you're using only half the powder of .308👍 i'd be comfortable making a 400-yard shot with it. i've been watching Dave Strohmeyer's channel, he has some grendel handloading vids and i've been picking up some good tips from him
Well truth be told I haven’t been able to see yet. It likes 129-140 grain bullets and they are pretty hard to find in that range. (Only 2 manufacturers make 129 and 139 grain loads and they both stay sold out…) as soon as I get the proper ammo for the rifle I will post a video for you guys.
@@jbcaptain11 normally I would agree, but I really want to see if this rifle is .5 MOA capable so I’ll either be finding someone who can reload for me or waiting for the ammo I want to be in stock…
