Safety Note: 0:46 To safely open the BSA glass ampule without cutting your finger use a 1000 microliter (1 ml) pipette tip which fits perfectly over the ampule) then break off the top without slicing your finger (I've seen it happen)
Hello. I was going to use the Pierce BCA Protein Assay Kit which includes Albumin Standard Ampules, (2 mg/mL, 10 x 1 mL). The ampules are stored at room temperature (as suggested by the data sheet). Upon receiving the kit, i do not pay enough attention to the ampules, however, a few days later, when i was gonna use it, i was able to see some particles (like fluff). Ampules have not been opened yet Are those particles fungus , BSA crystals or some precipitate of the compounds?. The ampules contains BSA 2 mg/mL in 0.9% saline and 0.05% sodium azide. I also looked up for certificate of analysis and says the following: " visual: Clear, colorless to slightly yellow liquid." Certificates of Analysis of BSA Pre-Diluted Set that is sterile filtered (other product from the same company) says " viual: Clear, colorless to slightly yellow liquid, FREE PARTICLES" Is my commercial BSA solution contaminated or normal particles?.
