I just got mine new in the box a few day's ago your a life saver I own older scanners this scanner is new school for me but thanks to your video I'm getting the hang of it Thank you ...
Thank you for your efforts. I learned a couple of programming steps from the video. The hardest part about this radio (and the BCD-996P2) is the volume of instructions in both the original manual and the "Easier Manual". Watching someone move around the scanner steps was very helpful. Ed/Central California
I am about to order one of these and seeing as how I have never owned one of these new fancy gizmos I started searching for videos of how these things work. I watched 2 videos on here before yours, and after watching this one I see I wasted my time on the other two. Your video was in a good country accent and used good country words and phrases this ole country boy could understand. I feel 100% confident that I can program this thing when it gets here. Awesome job on the video and thanks from North Carolina.
256se GA Talk So far all of our departments have not gone to the digital yet. But the state is setting up a statewide Viper Network on the p25 so it will not be long till they start making the switch over. Going to use this one to learn on and save up for one of the digitals.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! I could no find anywhere online a simpler way to show me how to change state!!! You are awesome... gonna finish out the video seems VERY informational.
I just bought this scanner at a pawn shop, almost new,it came with everything exept the manual....thanx to you and your video,I was able to do some programming on it,very helpful, thank you...and a big hello to you from Texas
In your opinion what is the best analog scanner to use with DSD? Does the trunk tracking still work now that everything is pretty much digital? thanks Ken
Well, your's is better than the other's. I finally got the manual to look at and wow... what a mess. Like learning a new computer operating system like apple, or ubuntu. I'm used to windows. I will go over the manual and see if I can figure it out. I think you should have went over the scanner .... BEFORE you decided to make the video... then you could have really showed us your stuff and how it works. It needs to be put in order and in steps. Back and forth is just confusing. I really like the "close call" (frequency counter) option. Now that is really cool. I would imagine that any freq that you find can be programmed into any channel...correct? Here's the manual.Scroll down to the, "keypad and Knob controls." and their definitions. Seems like each knob and button does about 4-6 things each. Would have to print out a cheat sheet/picture to keep up on what is going on. Still not sure to get one or not even for the cheat price of $156.00 from Wal-mart. If you can't learn it ... what good is free??? Thanks.
BCT15X is a good scanner most Police are Digital very little are not . I got a pro-651 I use for police in THE area because it Digital. If your County not Digital I just use the BCT15X.
I sure hope you can help me , a year ago i bought a bct-15x which i had them program for my area , well 2 weeks ago i bought a second one , not programmed thinking i would just clone it.. it looks like a easy straight forward process but i am not having any luck , can you show me how to transfer from my programmed one to the stock bct-15x. these are Identical models. thanks and i sure hope you can
Its very simple but you need to use the serial programming cable and a usb to serial adapter. The software is called freescan. You connect the first radio, download the current programming from it. Save it to your pc. Connect the new radio and upload the programming file you just saved. Done
do I get a digital or keep my BCT15X i just got, for $111 i'm in a small town and have 2 counties or 4 nearby, Chippewa, Eau Claire, clark and Taylor, do i really need a digital scanner yet? this was such a good deal i thought till i read about all of this and now I'm confused.. I need some serious advice here... 54727 is the Zipcode
I was under the impression that type of accent, voice and manner of speaking was a negative stereotype exaggeration, you know like Deputy Dog. Is it true this guy is for real ?
