These both sound great but the Blues Breaker has a bit more rounded tone. The Boss can get a bit fizzy if you're not careful. Ive also recently discovered running a fuzz face into a Blues Breaker set a little hairy is absolutely glorious! Great video Ed 🤘
I have both of them. But my BB is 3rd gen. I had chance for try BB, same like this video in Fender amp. It becomes dirty after 3 o'clock. I didn't have chance try BD-2 much more. I have it since 8 years, but I was inexperienced when I bought it. I had a little chance for BD-2 fender and vox all tube amp in last year, but i can not say i like it. When I have chance I will try too BB into BD-2 with my Vox amp and Fender amp. Thanks, it was very useful video.
@@edtheshredclarke Unfotunately, I did not. I’m living in Turkey, so no chance for find many thing. Also, I’m ship captain. For this reason all my staff what I have, I bought in Europe when I visit EU Ports.
Great video Ed! Something I’m looking at right now as I go through the valve amp/digital/pedals debate with myself 🙈🤣🎸 Is there ever a circumstance where you’d use these 2 together? I’ve seen people use a tube screamer and a blues driver together for example. I’m thinking bluesbreaker to‘fatten’ cleans, and then a blues driver to add more ‘dirt’ Curious as to what you think……
Thanks! I actually tried them stacked together while I was filming this. Maybe I should have put that in the video! It worked pretty well, very thick gain. I had the BB first.
