Warm up your engine faster on cold mornings with BD Diesel's High Idle Kit. Quick and easy install, the High Idle switch mounts on the dashboard. Newer model year trucks use a plug-in module with advance electronic controls along with a rotating switch for adjustable high idle speeds from 900rpm to 2100rpm. Early model years utilize a toggle or rotary switch that wire taps under the dash to select different RPM ranges. Great to use for remote starters, PTO's and extended idling applications.

I like the idea for certain situations but doesn't the 6.7 idle up on its own in the cold?

it does idle up on it's own but only for like 3 min so this make the high idle what ever you want with no time limit.

What’s the unusual low end growl associated with this kit? I’ve done multiple high idle mods but went with this kit for this truck, and there is a weird sound. Upon researching it there are others at ford-truck with same issue.

after a while my high idle kit with throw a check engine light and when i pull the code my scan tool will read p2127 throttle pedal position sensor switch E and when i clear the code and unplug the hi idle module and plug in the wire harness from the truck to the throttle pedal the code has never comes back....my truck is a 2008 gmc sierra duramax

If you have the high idle set to 1250 and you command start your truck will it kick the truck straight up to 1250 ? And also does it idle back down to the normal rpm range when you put it in gear like they do with the stock high idle ?

Yes and yes. They stupud thing I hate is you have to set the parking brake BEFORE getting out the night before. If I forget and remote start, it doesn't work and I got to go across the street to the barn and put the parking brake on for it to idle up. Sounds simple but I'm usually pretty distracted getting kids and stuff out of the truck and forget to push on the parking brake.

@@kasken719 I ended up installing it shortly after this comment I like it but I hate the fact these fords when cold kick straight into high idle when cold I’m in northern Canada where it was -40 for the last week and a bit last think and I cringe every time it does it but at least with this kit I can set my idle when it’s parked and warm the truck up faster I do like it for that
