I played a course today that has had my number for years. And I was throwing darts. But I missed 9 birdie opps from inside 10 feet. And the thing is, I hit my line and the speed I wanted every time. They just wouldn't fall today. Watching your video tonight made me wish you'ld have been around to guru me out of it. Lov the vids. Stay safe.

Been hitting hybrid off the tee alot more and leaving the frustrating driver in the bag. Scoring about the same but having much less stressful rounds and enjoying the game more. Matt's videos are a great way to look at the game. Glad he's back to posting.

You've got a wise head on your shoulders course management wise, if you played when you was a junior did you like me just go for everything without a care in the world then as you got older played more shrewdly but shoot worse scores because you remember your misses but feel like you're playing a less risky round? I do and it's so frustrating

Using your methods this season I've gone from shooting in the low 90s/high 80s to the mid/high 70s or low 80s on bad days. Stick to the game plan, Pars and Bogeys, fighting hard to never see a double bogey. 6/6/6 & way of the playa, birdies will come and long putts drop. Keep the tempo smooth like the lady professionals, no swinging out of my shoes. I've taken driver out of my bag completely, using a 4i off the tee and a 12* 3w when it's wide open. I'd much rather find a fairway with a 4i 200-220yd 8/10 times than have to guess where my driver is gonna go. It helps to have a reliable long ball from the fairway, mine is a 5w. You're the Peak Baus and the way I play the game has been forever revolutionized by your videos

I'm posting this because it may help someone in need. This is a specific technique post - proceed with caution: I've had a poor habit of planting low-grade, shaggy or water-logged feathers because of laziness on the course and being too focused on my game. The other day walking towards my ball to try and stick an island green in par 5 regulation, the gods blessed me with three high quality Canada Goose feathers. I considered quivering two of the three feathers to spread my luck over the round that wasn't shaping up, but faced with magnetic water between the hole and me, I had to counterbalance the energies. I decided to line the three feathers in a row pointing straight through the ball and at the pin directing the forces over the water. It needs to be said that the Canada Goose is known for long formation migratory flight. Lining up the feathers (formation) to carry long water (flight) just makes sense. Needless to say, I sank the birdie. In conclusion, not only frequency, but quality, position and species of bird appears to matter. More work needs to be done in this area of study but my early findings are worth sharing. In the meantime keep an eye out for Canada Goose feathers in South Africa or Asia or wherever you are.

I will add the lie of the golf ball to my pre shot checklist. I have been apart of the Playa mentality for 3 weeks. I have brought my average down from 95 to 87. I have dropped driver usage by 60%, and reduced hazards/ out of bounds by 70%. Your advice on selecting a club/shot that I am 100% confident in is what has given me the biggest improvement. Thanks for the great content.

Have played 9 hole rounds using just 6i one of my favs and 4i a little less love there. Playing partners think I'm nuts. Maybe I am. Just want to let you know I Appreciate you. Wow, those greens look so nice and inviting - the course I played Saturday had all of the pins in diabolical placement; at the edge of a spine ridge or within a foot of a slope to another level.... damn near impossible to shoot in the 70’s even when you hit most greens in regulation - the course superintendent must be going through a divorce or something

Another classic vid playa! I recently played with a 4 handicap buddy (I’m at 16) and he was showing me tips on the different lies, which I had never considered before. But seeing this really helps hit home what he was trying to tell me. Thanks Baus for even more ammo for me to try tomorrow when I play again!

Hey Matt! I just started watching your channel a week ago. Went out for 9 holes yesterday. Planted a feather to grow a birdie and the very next shot I holed out from a green side bunker for birdie on a par 3. Amazing! Haha

Another important tip for getting out of heavy rough is to take enough loft. The grass will snag on the club and deloft it at impact, causing the ball to come out much lower than normal. You need enough loft to pop the ball out and get back to the fairway or onto the green.
