I did the math and to play an entire season, every game in nhl 20 be a pro, like you’re supposed to. It would take you 27 hours. So to play a whole career (ages 17-35 not including playoffs or load times). It would take nearly 500 hours. Therefore I’m hoping there’s some way to do an “express be a pro” where you can play fairly casually for about a month and be able to knock out a whole career without being punished for simming games.
Was coming to post something about this. I hate the grind. I usually only finish a single season and I’m over it. I’d rather play like 30 games a season than 82 plus playoffs.
Honestly if hey could improve the simple things in be a pro that would be great. 1. Allow players to negotiate contracts with lengths longer than 2 years 2. Have players make the option to choose between more then two teams each contract. 3. Make the request a trade option actually work and just not deny you for no reason 4. Not have scoring be the only thing that really matters to coaches. 5. Have the ability to change positions. Example center to winger 6. In game practice that actually sees your player get better. Instead of just picking and choosing the hours you want to spend in each area and simming. 7. Finally don’t get punished for simming some games. I shouldn’t see my 91 overall player get chucked on the third line because I simmed 10 games. That happens so to me constantly. Sorry I don’t want to play every single game of the season. This may seem like a laundry list but it’s really just some tweaks to the current system. I think it would improve the experience 100x by just doing these things.
If you start out as a generational talent, I really hope you can upgrade your player early. That way you’re not getting out skated by Kassian or Lucic. At least have something that sets you apart from everyone else in the draft.
Some of those franchise players start around 84 even.. it would be nice if you could get that job. Need to bring the World Juniors into the game or something also.
Ive been asking for a rival system where you have beef with certain players on ice and there are like hate systems so it makes that there are certain players that are more prone to hitting you trying to stop your attack or fight you more often. In return, hitting them fighting them or even scoring when they are on the ice would give you more xp. Like imagine your player has a beef with lets say marchand so if you end up hitting him taking the puck away scoring. It would give you huge bonus because hes a rival. And have a sort of system in the menu where you see your rivals and there is a sort of beef that you have to talk about with the media. That would be easy and simple and would add quite a bit to the gane🤷♂️
EA's been doing the same thing for years. This exact Be a Pro mode was implemented YEARS ago, then after a year they dropped it to give us this watered down version and now they bring it back as a novelty. People are going to complain all year about the game being the same, as usual, and EA will bring some other relic out of nowhere to make us buy 22 next year. I'm disgusted with this company.
I want to see cutscenes, and hopefully they can start the development of starting as a 4 year old with insane skill and passion for the game and develop into a junior player and eventually into an NHL All-Star
@@Deathklockfan1 Not a new engine, it's new software with the Xbox Series X and S and The PS5, doubt NHL will ever come back to PC, don't see the keys working with the controls.
I’ve wanted World Jr’s in be a pro forever. I don’t see how this would be so hard as the teams uniforms are already in the game as is a tournament mode.
I’d like the option to begin/continue the career of current players like in the older games. For example, as a NYR fan it’d be cool if I could play through the career of Lafreniere, Fox, Panarin, etc. I don’t like only having the option to start fresh as a 69 ovr created player, just gets boring after awhile. Unless they added actual contract negotiations for your player or even the ability to change your own jersey number with your current team I really don’t have hope for whatever else they threw together for this years be a pro.
There's something strangely comforting and relaxing about watching Z talk video games. Haha. Not sure why, but it feels like I'm just having a nice convo with a bud. Thanks for the video, bud.
I'm hopeful for the game. I'll buy it either way. My main issue with Be a pro asides from how simple it is is how hard it is to progress your player. They need to make a way to do that quickly/more efficiently
Franchise mode could be helped tremendously with a very simple change to the roster menu. Just have a screen with a ton of little jerseys visible at the same time, like the 4 lines, PP/PK, then switch to a different tab with the less used lines etc. The player numbers should be very huge on the back of the little jerseys, like they should use up the available space, and then you can show their name too when the cursor is over them, or whatever. They should also try to push out some extra performance from the PS4 so that their text-based menus could actually load up in some sort of reasonable time frame. Then you can either have a little "error window" at the bottom or not, that depends on how well everything else fits on the screen, but the idea is that you let the player do any roster moves without a single complaint or a millisecond more of consideration time, just click and bam, the player is set where the cursor happens to be and the game shall remain silent with any complaints. If this causes some kind of conflict then you don't open up a stupid popup but you just append the error as a line to the error window, which can be shown always or at the end of the roster moves, depending on which one the UI and accessability designers prefer more. This includes moves between AHL/NHL rosters and so on, quietly disregarding waiver eligibility problems and every single other possible complaint that might feasibly arise, just don't tell me about it and I couldn't care less at the moment, the game should just shut up pls and let me work, stop getting in the way all of the time damnit. If you want to be helpful then while staying quiet the game could for example highlight with a little mark like some kind of a (red) box frame around the player (or a background color change, or...) that causes some kind of conflict by being in that position, or use some other kind of way to message to the player that there's going to be a problem here. Whatever you do, stop telling me what to do in stupid popup menus that take ages to load and need 50 clicks to make anything happen, and still result in some kind of stupid error that doesn't accept anything I tried to do. Just let me do all the necessary things first and then present me with a list of roster transactions that need to happen for this to take place, and include notes about players who are in multiple lines, defenders in forward lines, etc. Then as the final step the game should take care of that kind of mundane crap and not shit on the player while demanding they do all this menial work themselves. Gah!
I forget which 2k it was... 11 maybe or 9 where you could do pond hockey, mini rink, 3 on 3, drive zamboni in intermission and all of that. Also, I would like the option for a 54 game season again.
Small housekeeping but they fixed the sock tuck lol. Players had their socks so low on the skates when irl they don't typically do that. Glad they fixed it
The one thing I think they should do is if you are drafted first overall, your own overall should go up. Your starting overall after being drafted should be dependant (mostly, not only) on the place you were drafted. i.e. if you are drafted 157th overall, your overall should be around 60-67, but if your drafted first overall, you should be at least a 79-80+, and your potential should also be dependant on this. Just my thoughts
I was literally going to ask about whether or not you guys were going to talk about this. It'd be nice to get a retirement ceremony if you were good enough in a career. I love watching you guys!
@@danielzakrzewski.bardown and I LOVE the idea for drills. Not everyone who plays gets the privilege of growing up in a hockey background. Would do them like a real player would. 👍👍
I’m really just hoping that they fix the contract system or at least do something with it. Every free agency for BAP there’s only 2 offers that are short term and the money you make in the salary is meaningless. Just hoping they do something with it.
Once again, proper captaincy assignments. Getting a concrete way to become the captain of your team, for instance, training more or having better relationships with coaches would be a good place to start...
NHL 20 was my first NHL game since 06 so I was really excited for some 2K style career stuff with loads of features and interesting things to do. My god was I disappointed. Did what I thought was the authentic be a pro experience and played the 5 or so games for Guelph before being drafted by the NY Rangers. All good for the first while, got to the first line and scored a good few goals etc. First disappointment was that you cant change position. Being more or less a hockey noob, I just picked Center at the start, but I would have liked to try the other skating positions. Not a huge biggie in the grand scheme of things. My biggest let down was that there’s no gameplay outside of the NHL league and playoffs. No national team games, no Olympics, no winter classic and no all star game for example. I won the Stanley cup and more or less every individual award in my first season since I played on rookie to get used to it. After the season ended it was such an anti-climax. Like am I supposed to just rinse and repeat what I’ve done for the last 2 weeks and get the same enjoyment..? I ended up requesting a trade and got the Sharks which are of no interest to me. Simmed the full season then requested another trade and got the Hurricanes, which were of even less interest. Simmed the 3rd season and got a choice of either re-signing with Carolina or moving to the Jets. I like Winnipeg so I signed for them, but I just don’t really want to play the game anymore. It’s going to be the exact same experience as the Rangers, but with a slightly darker shade of blue. Also I’m from Ireland(hence the being a noob), but I put myself down as being from Toronto in the game so that I’d get to play for Canada. Really sad that that’s not possible.
This would literally be way too much to ask for and not at all necessary but it would be cool to have different locations for every city in the cut screens. Like if you get drafted by the kings there may be scenes outside of staples center/downtown LA. Or if you get signed by the rangers there’s cut scenes in NYC. Also negotiating contracts and having a purpose for that money. Maybe you can purchase more skill points or something? This gives you incentive to actually care about the money you get. You could take less to go to a hometown team or take less to go to a contender, or sign a monster contract somewhere and use all that money on skill points.
like NBA they should add to NHL 2021 warm-ups in be a pro!!! where you see your team hit the ice and take warm-ups shots on your goalie or if you are the goalie they you face the shots, just to get you warmed up!
I hope you can sign contracts, earn money that u can use to buy any thing, houses, cars and i hope theres a new thing where u can drive yourself to the rink from your house on home games and be able to walk around the arenas see teamates, dress yourself in the locker room, then play
I’d love to see more role play elements with BAP. I love playing and want to feel as if I’m an actual NHL Superstar and either become a legend in the HOF, or fizzle out and become a nobody in the Euro leagues. And feel like I’m along for the ride. Like “Live the Life” was great. It was in-depth but not too much so. Being a bit of a stats nerd, I’d love to see some advanced stats for your guy, like Time on Ice, heat-maps, etc. or at least make it an option for folks who don’t want all that data,
As much as I'd like to play these new sports games, I've just really given up on EA. There are not enough changes to warrant paying full price each year. Especially since I mainly play franchise mode
*Scores Hattrick every game for 10 games straight* *sims through next 5 games* Coach: “You haven’t been putting in the effort I’d like to see. I’m putting you on the 4th line.”
i like be a pro but i really hope they let you start in a pseudo "hardcore mode" where you play on a set difficulty with set sliders. Then they let you and everyone else using those fixed settings to play online with the character stats you built up. otherwise you would get some jabroni power-leveling on rookie
They need to make the Stanley cup celebrations better. I got guys like Antoine Rousell lifting the cup before Eddy n Tanman. Absolutely frigged. Also we need group cellys and bench fly bys in game, would be nuts
no matter the circumstances, wether you score a game 6 ot goal to tie the series or a ot goal in pre season, its always the same animation except it changes camera angles.
Unless be a pro mode or franchise mode make drastic changes I won’t be buying the new nhls it’s been a waste of money every year for the same game , but has “4 new dekes” lol give me a legit story line as a gm or as a player with cut scenes. And when my career is over and I retire , would be nice to feel rewarded for once , same with franchise mode go to the end of a franchise winning all sorts of Stanley cups and then all of a sudden it just ends says franchise mode complete , no feeling of accomplishment even if I did sim the entire franchise
Hey Dz, The thing I disliked the most in the oast was id really tear up the CHL and get atleast 100 points, get MVP and other player trophies, win the memorial cup and get the MVP of that but yet I'd never go top 3 overall. I would get picked like 23rd or lower. That I would like to see changed.
yes im excited looking forward to being a player for NHL Team also looking forward to more of Ice Rink Antics again the bummer of Covid-19 i like be A Pro im getting NHL 21 for the New Arenas.Stadiums and Jerseys for tne now 32 teams
@@TheHeston83 They don't start playing until 2021-22 though. Vegas entered the league in 2017-18 and they were in NHL 18 first, so Seattle will be in NHL 22.
