Love that this song was originally released by Prince in 1984. This cover was done in 2006. This video came out in 2017. One year after Prince died. Nice tribute.
Hahaha.... well It is MY kind of dancing.. I am 65yrs old, and have been 'free' dancing since I was 20 yrs old and first went dancing while I was in Spain .... I came from a very repressive family upbringing, and when I found I loved to dance, and to 'feel' the music, I never stopped.... in times of stress, or for the sheer joy of it, I would just dance... I am a bit bloomin' disabled now, but this song and video brings me such great joy, I feel like I am dancing again... EACH TO THEIR OWN I SAY :) :)
Hmmmm, this should be a logo ” I never stopped.... in times of stress, or for the sheer joy of it, I would just dance...” thanks man, I will definitely make a t shirt with this. Thank you again for your vibe.
you know when a song is good when it makes you dance. I was hearing this while walking back from school one sunny day. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tPkZmJHQ-FY.html doing silly dance moves, and spins while walking was probably the best day i had in a very long time.
I'm a big fan of the Tanyas. I've never heard this before and it's an awesome gift to spit it up on YT out of the blue. Thanks. Come on Be Good Tanyas....one more album.
This is the song that got me hooked on the Be Good Tanyas. This is so honest and raw, like the original, still challenging 20 years later. Like everything they do.
Dig if you will the picture Of you and I engaged in a kiss The sweat of your body covers me Can you, my darling? Can you picture this? Dream if you can a courtyard An ocean of violets in bloom Animals strike curious poses They feel the heat The heat between me and you How can you just leave me standing Alone in a world that's so cold? Maybe I'm just too demanding Maybe I'm just like my father: too bold Maybe you're just like my mother She's never satisfied Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like When doves cry Touch if you will my stomach Feel how it trembles inside You've got the butterflies all tied up Don't make me chase you Even doves have pride How can you just leave me standing Alone in a world that's so cold? Maybe I'm just too demanding Maybe I'm just like my father: too bold Maybe you're just like my mother She's never satisfied Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like When doves cry Darling don't cry
To MrEpeeFencer who says: 'Am I the only one who thinks people who "dance" like that look absolutely ridiculous? It's like their having a seizure standing up.'........... And MY REPLY : Hahaha.... well It is MY kind of dancing.. I am 65yrs old, and have been 'free' dancing since I was 20 yrs old and first went dancing while I was in Spain .... this is wonderful on so many levels! The song, the way it's somehow mysteriously upgraded from what Patti did - which is perfect already - and then this dancer! apart from all the obvious brilliance it's balming to see a man dance to women's music. Thank you on loads of levels.
That was the most brilliant interpretive dance I've ever had the joy to witness. Buddy you got mad skills . I'm so happy I found the Go Good Tanyas. I'm in the Cancer hospital with Pneumonia. Ha. Had a giant cancer and they removed my full right lung and pneumonia is going to kill me first. Double HA HA. But thank you both for giving me things to research on the bank and the dancer. You have make my day. Beautiful music and dance
To the Tanyas, Po girl...I am trying to reach out. To Trish, especially: I love your work. Always, your friend, Jack The Rabbit, Old Mother's Cookies #9, Oakland CA. Nothing sounds better than the Tanyas driving through NV, ID, WY, AZ, NM. If y'all don't know yet...have a closer listen. Pure Magic! 🐰🐰🐰
I don't know how underrated they are, but I know this is one of the most incredible covers of any song I have ever heard. It is even better than the almost a capella version of the Weekend's "Wicked Games" by Couer de Pirate. Apparently Canadian women singers are great at covering edgy, disturbed R&B superstars.
Is this a multiplied by a thousand redone dance performance sped up from before? No, it is definitely redone. Beautiful song performance, and add the dancin, it is just unbelievable!
this is not bluegrass as far as i know, but check steve martin and the steep canyon rangers on "npr tiny desk", stunning i tell you... :-) love and greetings from germany 🙋♂️

Wish I could have a copy of this song & video.... I would put it up on a big screen in my room, and watch& listen to it every day till I died.... and all the while I could feel joy and be happy :)
I tried that dance outside and my neighbors called 911 which was a good thing because I got so tangled into a pretzel that I couldn't even reach my cell phone.
