Hullo Zoe, I have used cardboard a lot and you need a surface you can work on and clear gesso is great if you want the brown color showing through. White gesso is fine if you just want a clean surface to work on your paints look better and cover more easily on white too. I think your creature looks great with the ScrawlrBox Logo peeking from around them! It even looks planed. I hope you do more traditional artworks!

Actually I think the blue pattern at the back looks great .I love this ,so beautifully done.Hope you love your new kitchen..Pain in the neck though having it put in and having everything stored in boxes..Enjoy it 🥰
