Hi! Left guitarist speaking right now- i just want to say thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments and support! Its so cool to see that despite our mininal gear and abysmal drum setup, people were able to connect with the energy and passion i think we truly played with. Today, all of us are involved in my band, "Hyperviolet", with a demo coming out before the end of the year! Im also a graphic designer so if youre a band or need a cool logo or something please check out my ig too - instagram.com/hyunmin.hv?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
@@adamchmilo5863not then no. Me and these guys on stage (probably) wish we were teens now instead of then. Deftones is bigger than ever before and all the music I was listening to (Goth Rock/Post Punk, Trip Hop, Shoegaze, Industrial, Grunge, New Wave) as well as Emo, Nu Netal and Punk have all exploded onto the scene. 7 years too late for me though.
i mean i can understand her cos she's literally at the front row .. but like at the same time , i'd want that shit blasting in my ears and injected in my veins😭💀
It’s tough to cover a Deftones song…hell even Chino himself can barely pull it off nowadays. These kids killed it. Seeing the younger generation getting into Deftones is pretty awesome.
Are you kidding? I can’t think of anyone easier to cover than Deftones. Chino has so much distortion on his voice that it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re moaning or screaming,. I’m 46 years old and I found Deftones when I was on my junior year summer vacation in high school in 1995. I got a copy of sample singles. It had seven words on it, and then I waited like 10 months for adrenaline to come out because I liked that song so much. Cool to see that Deftones are still cool to teenagers, but it’s just so sad that they don’t have their own scene and are taking their parents music for their own. Screw this digital music that kills artistry. These kids need to step up and make their own rock music or there won’t be any Rockstars in 20 years. Chino will be 70.
@@chemicalkurdtwell not much of the current music trends endorse rock as much as it used to and due to that it is wayyyy harder to find good rock music nowadays, and besides we sort of have, there’s still some remnants of pop punk right now, though not nearly as good as it used to be.
some girl's dad that just so happen to be there : Daughter, I want you to marry them, I don't care if you have a boyfriend, they're the only one I'll ever approve Girl : b... But dad, I'm a lesb... Dad : DID. I. STUTTER. Girl : O.. okay okay, but at least tell me which one do you me... Dad : YES
Everyone’s looking past the drummer absolutely CARRYING this group. Nothing is more important to the quality of a live band as how solid the rhythm section is. He is ROCK solid, which is very rare to find at this age and immediately sets a band like this apart. Being that solid allows the rest of the members to feel comfortable with their instruments and play their absolute best and trust that the drummer will carry them in time. The band lives or dies by the drummer, and this dude killed it.
@@user-hk7hz9cn7vDon't mean to be too critical cuz he's just a kid and maybe he'll improve but he also didn't do a single fill from the song (or not even his own variations) which took a lot away from it.
The left guitarist is just my hero. Such a shame that a lot of the audience preobably didn't know deftones and thought your playing was just ok, but as a deftones fan this was on point, so fucking good.
Everyone talking about the left guitarist but they all did amazing. Specially singer, his voice fits. And the drummer was carrying with the guitars tones beautifully also so it's all good man
This is unironically the video that got me into Deftones. This randomly showed up on my autoplay one night, and I knew about Deftones and this song prior, but I never felt incentivised to listen to it until this video. After this, I listened to the original, I liked it, I listened to Around The Fur, and now I'm obsessed
gotta listen to Koi no Yokan ! you’d definitely like melodies on that album. it’s a masterpiece. Diamond Eyes is great as well. Deftones is one of those bands that has no bad albums, only the least amazing.
@daskrunkly3213 People rarely mention Saturday Night Wrist and I think it's their most accessible album and pretty fuckin great too probably the one I listen to the most
Yes!!! Glad you recommended koi no Yokan to this person….that album is incredible. Of coarse they’ll check out white pony….so I’m glad to see KNY and Saterday nIght wrist being recommended. Stellar albums. They all are.
I’d love to see these kids do this now since their voices have developed. No matter how you sound, when you’re 14-15 your voice is always going to be cringey when you scream some lyrics like “I don’t care where, just far”. I’d pay money to see this re-created now. This is INSANELY good for how young they are, better than most people who have played their entire lives. Imagine a lot of the kids in the audience don’t understand what they just saw. Lots, and lots of hours at each-others houses I bet. Don’t know if you’re still on this account but good job. I wish I was even 1/4 as talented as y’all were when I was your age. Kid on the left was KILLING IT.
I just turned 72 years old! I know good music when I hear it! AWESOME…. Here are a few helpful hints for all of you… Do not smoke, do not drink and drive, and never ever ever use your phone while driving… Even if it is HANDS FREE! Your concentration must be on the road… Not on the phone. That’s all I’ve got! 💚💙💜🖤
@devindonahue3903 lol don't lump in Deftones with nu metal they're better than that to be tossed in with that mostly-garbage sub genre. They hated being labeled nu metal so much that they wrote Back to School as a joke nu metal song and it still came out awesome and greater than 99% of actual nu metal songs
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW😃 I WOULDVE BEEN SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF IN THE AUDIENCE. they had no clue they were in the midst of greatness. You guys did a fantastic job, especially to even preform.🙏🏾 God I wish this happened in my high school. I'm so jealous
Kid with the black guitar..badass!!! The tone is perfect, the attitude, the style, his stance. His yell is awesome too. Hope he is still rocking out. Yall are a wonderful stage presence.
As a hardcore Deftones and LP fan, this was amazing to watch! The entire band covered this song down to the t. It truly sound like the original. This wasn't even their original material, but considering how well they did, well, I can only imagine what Hyperviolet sounds like. I have taken a lot of influence from these 2 bands, along with Korn, SOAD, Metallica, and Slipknot just to name a few. I've been practicing my vocals, that way I can scream. I don't have any material yet, so I haven't recorded, but I do want to make music. Well, I have lyrics, I just don't have the proper equipment to truly take it to the next level. BTW, the vocalist sounded exactly like Chino. I will definitely be checking out Hyperviolet. There is no doubt in my mind that y'all will make it on my playlist.
The guitarist screaming "I don't care where just far." He time traveled and stole my girlfriend and then traveled back to the current day, and now makes me sell him slurpees ar 7-11.
Awesome! 😊 You absolutely nailed one of my favourite songs. I was told about Deftones around the time this was posted. Saw them in London in May 2017 and they were absolutely amazing! They’ve been one of my favourite bands ever since. Hope to see them again one day.
