I am Japanese. Her songs were playing from a Japanese radio station.Since I am Japanese, I don't know the meaning of the lyrics to the fullest extent, but the tune is a good song.
It seems a long time ago when this old punk stumbled on Bea's video Disappear, I was one of the low hundreds of views. Now look at how she is doing. Yet another wonderful song making a 63 year old happy. Thank you Bea.
@@pastelmochibear868 Well, first of all because as a person growing up in that era, Avril was a mainstream pop star, which also was posing as a skater pop punk chick, which really pissed a lot of alternative/indie people off. And second, an artist like Bea, I don’t get the comparisons at all. She’s inspired by the likes of Stephen Malkmus, watching a video where she talked about records, and I have no doubt that she might be into Avril as well, as she is a Zoomer and most of that generation can’t fathom that era, as they were born or in kindergarden at it’s peak. So, apart from her "aesthetic", that she wears baggy clothes, which was very common for the skate punk subculture at the time, the 90s/2000s up until 2005, when the genre really was considered dead to most, there really is no similarities other than them being girls with baggy clothes and singing. Sum 41 and Blink 182 lived on, but no one cared for Fenix Tx, Millencolin, The Ataris, The Starting Line, Mest etc. after 2005, almost. But I love Bea. I think a revival the genre of pop punk is fun, and she has great songs! I just hate that she is being compared to Avril Lavigne, so there you go. 😊 It’s the same annoying thing with Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift. Phoebe is unique, Taylor is mainstream, and although undoubtfully talented, still not comparible just because Tay tay wanted to be a indie tourist for an album.
Yeah.. she said that he wanted an open relationship but people have said she admitted to cheating? And then this music video 💀 she has to get the story straight. I loved this song sm until I realized the meaning
I feel like I've been transported back to the early 00's with this video. The sound, the clothes, the overall aesthetics. It just screams 20 years ago.
I personally grew up in the early 2000s and I hated the fashion back in the day and I still do. I think I miss the 2000s because of the music, the movies, the TV shows but not the fashion... It was laughably bad
*LYRICS:* Your eyes are just like his But your face is a bit different You're a bit more fucked, but I guess that's fine Maybe that's what I want this time, you Say that you're breaking up Connection, too slow So I just I try to text again Don't pick up the phone Don't think we can be friends Because you're too pretty I wanna see you again I don't know what I'm saying This is too bad to boast But this is my way to float And if I shut up, I'm scared I'll drown But maybe that's the best for now Say that you're breaking up Connection, too slow So I just I try to text again Don't pick up the phone Don't think we can be friends Because you're too pretty I wanna see you again I don't know what I'm saying Don't think this is worth it Don't think this is worth it I'm not wasting time But you've been on my mind Don't think this is worth it, this time Say that you're breaking up Connection, too slow So I just I try to text again Don't pick up the phone Don't think we can be friends Because you're too pretty I wanna see you again I don't know what I'm saying Say that you're breaking up Connection, too slow So I just I try to text again Don't pick up the phone Don't think we can be friends Because you're too pretty I wanna see you again I don't know what I'm saying
So underrated , I cant believe it. I can see all of your influences in the music. It feels like the cure, the who, u2 and the foo fighters spliced their DNA to create Beabadoobee. I am just going to recommend it to everyone until it becomes more popular, people need to stop sleeping on this absolute art.
This is the perfect song to dance to when you are falling apart or spiraling. Its like the one thing that is pulling you back up from the ground its like calming
Still working on picking out all the ingredients in this one, but there's definitely some 1979-era Smashing Pumpkins in the guitar tones, and I'm totally here for it.
Omfg i love her music so much I’m currently goin through it because i haven’t heard all her songs but omfg this reminds me of early 2000 ‘s teen movies
Saw her live for the third year in a row in NYC, this Monday at Terminal 5. Every time she plays this, I start jumping in the crowd. It's so surreal being one of the only 34 year olds in a sea of 22-25 year olds enjoying the same music I loved as a teenager. Bea is truly a visionary
Director: We can’t film a music video we need to socially distance. ... Bea: *RECORD ME THROUGH A WINDOW* Director: Wha- Bea: *RECORD ME THROUGH THE FCKIN WINDOW*
In moments when everything goes wrong, when the feelings are on the floor and the ceiling seems to fall on my head; I will embrace the miracle of music in this space called life and I will smile through tears in front of such works of the precious art of combining sounds in time. Thanks, Bea, because with your music today you become an engine to continue forward.
