Hi Erin , Most plastics are recyclable, the planter is a different type of plastic that has a high salt content, yes, sodium chloride/salt, I think this type of plastic would be sorted into another bin because of its' composition so it doesn't contaminate the drink containers, but check your recycling depot to be sure. Here in Australia plastic drink containers and aluminium cans and flavoured milk cartons get you 10 cent AUD each. Cheers Mate
