I hope that when you find class rings that you at least try to find the owners of them somehow. I lost mine or it was stolen. It wasn't worth much monetary wise but I worked 12 years to get my high school class ring and I even paid for it because my father was too cheap to give me money to buy it. I babysat and did not jobs and managed to save the $56 got it cost me. I hope whoever has it now tries to find me somehow. I miss that ring. Now I have to try to finish watching this RU-vid post. I live on an old lake here in Louisiana and there used to be swimming platforms in various places . They started lowering the lake here yearly . I've mopped up on old gold and platinum jewelry and old high school rings and a few bracelets , and a pile of coins .4+ cigar boxes full !

The black ring could be a victorian mourning ring. It may made of Bog Oak, Bog oak jewelry was very popular in mourning jewelry, because it was black and easy to carve. Post what you find out.....

I realize this was over 2 years ago. First time seeing it for me. I have a question about that diamond tester that you were using. Does it have a spot on it to detect a man made diamond? One of my diamond rings is a Moissanite (lab created diamond, made up of carbon and silicon, and it does pass on a meter as a diamond. I had some fun with it when I first got it taking it to local jewelry stores and getting the sales people to look at it. They first would look at it through a loop and then check it with that meter. Then they would give their opinion of what they thought my ring was worth. Which was thousand of dollars more than I paid! Of course I would tell them it was man made. Since the Moissanite diamond has been on the market and was passing the diamond meter test someone has created a new meter that can tell the difference between the two. Still not all jewelry stores have that special newer meter to tell between the two.
