Hi transvamp747 , in the past when I have used footwear the sand rubbed the skin off my feet to the point I was bleeding . I do a lot of walking out there . I can use my diving boots with socks, but if I get in the water its like walking around with leg weights on. I would also end up with tan legs and pale feet when not wearing the boots. I wear flip flops a lot when not at the beach and it would look strange. I wear the boots after big storms due to debris or if I go to a beach with a lot of shells or rocks . I watch where I walk and am walking behind a metal detector. Sand spurs are the thing that does get me from time to time up near the top of the beach . Those do hurt ! Thanks for watching .

@@idigdaytona4478 Yes indeed it is as I use my Vanquish a lot too old scale but 15 through 32 are my usual dig ranges on the Vanquish depending on the tones too.

Hi David , on the old scale you want to dig the 8 - 12 as well. On the beach , I dig everything but iron. That's why I like the 2D screen on the Manticore . Happy hunting .
