Those nails are probably old boat nails and may be kind of collector items. Here, lead is about $.50/lb. Mish, of her DirtFishMish channel, melts all her lead and molds her own scuba weights. You can melt lead on your stovetop. Copper is around $4.00/lb. It all adds up, man! I mentioned before that I sometimes notch out 14-19 and others on my Vanquish. I only do that if the ground is working me to death with junk. I've lately been trying Relic mode and it definitely is the strongest setting because it picks up far more targets...and deeper but it can really work you to death. When I notch out it's just on days I want to relax but many days I like all the flurry of beeps and enjoy the digging. Thanks for a another great video, Austin.

Really not a good idea to melt lead on your stove top, unless you have very good medical insurance. Lead kills and not just bullets. Seriously not smart.

Sounds like a short dive is in order an old boat wreck maybe just off shore...my grandfather used to build boats in the 50s and 60s and those are a product of that kind of work and inside the the boat brass because they wouldn't rust In the saltwater...

.83 cents to $1.00 is the current price of Lead per pound; submersible light $7.99; copper ship nail! Copper sheathing and copper nails prevented saltwater corrosion to ships and also was a bio-shield to prevent sea organisms from getting at the wood..

They used copper Square nails in boat building and repairs they also used thin lead sheets to cover leaks in boats and used copper Square nails to nail the lead sheets in place. You might research boat wrecks around your area sometimes they have maps for approximate location of ships wrecks and what they might be carrying like they do for the east Coast of Florida. They still make copper nails but I would say the ones you have found are very old. If you have a library near you it might have the research material to the age the nails you found.

The 'button' that you have found appears to be a pre roman Celtic stater. If it is not a modern repro, it does beg the question as to how it ended up in the US. If genuine, it is well over 2000 years old, and is found all over western Europe

Somewhere along the Gulf Coast of FL there is supposed to be a buried ship wreck on a what was during the Pirate days a Cresent shaped Island. The ship was full of Spanish treasure. I barely remember the story but I believe it came from two captured pirates who tried to trade the tale for their lives. I think they were hung anyways and it's not known if they were telling the truth. Those nails could be from any old boat however. Great finds! I'd hit the water off shore and dig everything to see if there is a wreck and what kind. A shrimper in my area has some silver bars he found somewhere. So there is stuff around here.

scrap lead .25 to .45 cents a pound. I think those nails are from boats. There are nail history and types and what they were used for on the Internet also when certain styles were in use and when they stopped using or making certain styles also a picture showing all different types that you could match yours up to.Google- Antique wooden forged and cut nail age and use. That water light could be a type of bobber when it goes under the light disappears so you know a fish is biting a night fishing thing.

Just never know what's under there! I pulled a really deep silver ring a while ago that sounded just like some iron in the bottom of the hole.. once it came out rang up nice high 20s! From what people were saying probably pretty old nails from boats... just never know could be close to the pirate doubloon! 🤣🤣🙏 T

Dude its a hot spot. And yes it dose look to be whole lot of hand foraged and hand made and made of brass it seem to be used in salt water environment.Carefull there may be something to it and worth the investigation might be close to an area were a ship was ran aground it is last resort when on a sinking ship. Over the years stuff get washed up .And shore line dose change keep under hat and investigat.👍🙂..
