In this episode I continue on the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route (COBDR), before I make a detour to Denver to visit some friends. We watch a football game and then I continue driving towards Mexico.
In New Mexico I meet another Land Rover Defender driver (‪@landyandy4x4‬ ) and we investigate my brake issues. Turns out the wheel hub is broken. We fix it, explore some more of the beauty of New Mexico and then I cross into Mexico.

Always good to meet up with a mate from past over landing adventures . Great video as all ways , New Mexico cool to see a area we over landed to year’s ago , in one of your videos . Hello,you can always make quicker on the motorway if you’re board with the back country and all the bumps and stuff.It’s amazing how much you can get away with on a Defender to keep going that you could never do with a modern vehicle.Good to get a bit of help from a friend too.Able to keep going now with a little more peace of mind.🙂

It wasn't so much that I was bored with the backcountry and/or the bumps. It was more that I didn't really trust the truck too much at that time (and I didn't want to get stranded somewhere on a mountain pass). In hindsight it was a good decision, as I'm not sure that wheel hub would have taken too much more abuse. Also, I got a bit tired of being alone in the backcountry all the time, especially with the dropping temperatures. I was just looking for some warmer climate and more people 🤷‍♂️ I'm a bit bummed, that I missed most of Colorado's fantastic mountain scenery, but then again, I've already seen soo much on this trip.
