Hi Harry did the seven sisters walk from birling gap to cuckmere haven, and back to exceat visitor centre , amazing cliff walk back in early september PTW
I live 30mins drive away and visit Birling Gap every week. This is a *BRILLIANT* video for those either new or experienced 'locals' like myself. Man, I didn't even know about the Cow Gap - in fact, I didn't even know you could get to the lighthouse ! I'm going to find out more and give that a go. Can't thank you enough dude. That was epic.
I'm so pleased you liked the video! I always try and find interesting routes. Walking at low tide from Birling Gap to the Lighthouse is quite difficult as the seaweed was slippery and I didn't want to walk close to the cliffs. Enjoy the walk :-)
Give it a go. It’s a great walk. Aim to start from Cow Gap just as the tide is going out. That’ll give you plenty of time to walk to the lighthouse and back. Check out the old car wrecks and parts of an old ship scattered at the bottom of the cliffs. Enjoy.
@@Droneit I have just seen the new year in watching your drone footage and it is very impressive to say the least. You have not only captured the grandeur of the cliffs ,but included outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. A great job. Happy New Year.
Always thought the Beachy Head experience better at the bottom of the cliff; far fewer people there. Now decided I'll have to go there and see the sun set! In contrast, I've noted the dreadful Rihanna and her absolutely appalling song 'Umbrella' has hundreds of millions of views on RU-vid, and yet you've produced this wonderful video of an inspirational landscape, and only 3000+ people have watched it. A sad reflection on the human species I think!
Yes at the bottom of the cliff it's much quieter and you get the appreciate the awe of the gigantic chalk cliffs. You will really enjoy the sunset and the way it turns the chalk orange! Thanks for such a lovely comment, I just hope more people can appreciate the beauty that's on our doorstep :-)
This is beautiful but the people getting close to the cliff edge must have had a death wish. Those cliffs are chalk and crumble easily. this is where i grew up and unfortunately have seen people go over the edge.
sue gardner thanks. Yes it’s beautiful, there’s so much evidence where the cliffs have collapsed in the past but people still go all the way to the edge! It’s a great place to walk
Harry's Hikes Great video for your first one. I didn’t realise there was a Bomber Command Memorial there, I must visit soon! Re the filter, it reduces the flicker from shooting at 30fps so I’ll try it on the next video. Keep flying👍🏻
@@MarkKerton Thanks, it was quite scary at first! I shoot in 2.7K @ 60fps. It's all about weather, I think filters are most effective on sunny days or dawn/dusk environment.
Got ya. Which drone are you flying at the moment then? Yes, defo better quality in good weather, which right now isn’t great! Looks like another dull week on the forecast!
Hey dude, nice vid. I live in Eastbourne. I try to do hikes as much as i can. The last 2 was Lewes station to Bishopstone station, and before that Lewes station to Polgate tesco. I try to do a big one (10 miles +) every time i got a week off (i get blisters so i need the time to recover) i love walking though, great fun
Most times i go (for 3/4 days) there is a flypast by spitfire(s) , you have to be very quick to film it , but can hear them coming by the deep throat sound of their merlin engines. Also i walked from birling gap to beachyhead one evening and there was a rnli speedboat down near the waters edge , i went to the cliff edge to see and up pulls a 4 wheel drive rnli with 2 occupants aproaching me asking my name and suspecting me of being a jumper ! - :- |, i really didnt need that .
The flypast would be interesting to see! Yeah the RNLI are quite vigilant when it comes to jumpers as it's a suicide hotspot unfortunately. Will have to visit again soon :-)
@@HarrysHikes Yes, a tough climb in either direction but a great feeling when you get to the high point near the pub & as you know the views are great - even my house :) - thanks for replying & glad you enjoyed it - take care S
In June 2016 me and my wife spent our holiday in Friston. It was the week after Brexit election. On a walk at the Cliffs of Beachy Head, the most idiotic thing happend. I lost my wallet with ID, driving licence, all the paper for the car and so on. I became aware in the Evening of that day. So we had driven to the police station in seaford to report it. There was a very kindly female police oficer who helped me with Patience to fill up all the forms. We reported it to the landlords of the cottage. They join in to be present for the police, in case they had news for us. 24h later, we got the wallet back. Hikers found it at the restaurant neat by beachy head and transfer it to the police station at Eastbourne. The police network do it's police thing and I was able to receive it back even without a scratch on the leather. Well it's not a common story of east sussex but if you plan to spent holidays in GB, this region would be a great deal. Because of its pleasant people.
Bundesdieter What an uplifting story! So glad your walk had a happy ending after losing your wallet. As hikers we tend to appreciate our environment and are mindful of the nature that surrounds us, and that includes humanity. Hope you enjoy more walks and check out my other videos for great places to go in the UK.
Love it! We just visited the cliffs too and it was beautiful. First time going here as well and have to say I’ll be going back soon. I did a short video too on this, check it out if you wish :)
Hey guys! How long does it take from East Bourne station to beach head? I will be visiting it soon. I live in Croydon. Your guidance is highly appreciated. Thanks
Usaid Naeem from the station it’s about 30mins walk to the start point of this walk, then probably another hour and a bit to Beachy head. Hope you have a nice walk!
