Thank you for this tutorial. I am a complete beginner and only had 1 crochet hook size 5.5mm. The finished jug cover was more the size of a trifle bowl cover. It looks really pretty in pink wool and small black beads.

Ahh, yes the 5.5mm hook is large, but if you're learning it's not a bad thing. Small hooks can be fiddly to get used too. It's about that time when I was learning that I developed a desire to buy all the crochet hooks in all the sizes!! :) You're project sounds very pretty! :)

Really nice and easy to follow, hardest part is threading the beads on 😂

Yes, very cute, very nice! I have never worked with beads but have some cheap plastic ones I should practice with. I'm assuming this really is the sort of thing that would work best with cotton as the beads won't make the thread stretch. Thanks for sharing Olivia.

Very Lovely, I did enjoy the look of the white delicate doiley that was shown in the beginning of the video as well. Could you reference a video to that doiley?

Thank you for your tutorial. I found it after a friend asked me if I could make a few I am all thumbs and was wondering if I can add beads after? Also the "drape" will it happen with use as I can't find heavy beads, not even glass seems heavy enough.

these are absolutely beautiful! I've adapted them and are only doing the outer 2 rounds and hand stitched them to a fabric doily. I'm also using cotton yarn (had no idea this is difficult for beginners 😯). but I'm finding the chains of each scallop are twisting in and pulling up. do you have any suggestions? I realised untwisting the yarn helps a huge amount, and not crocheting too tightly. but it's still doing it a bit....

Hi :) I at the minute 22:50, you say, double crochet? And keep saying the same thing, but I have a question, that's maybe a single crochet? In your country is named differently? I am left with a big question! lol.
@Girlybunches
@Girlybunches 10 лет назад
Hi Teacup and Roses :) Double Crochet in British Terms is the same as Single Crochet in US terms, It can be awfully confusing and I get this question a lot.. so thats why I made this little vide here to help ;Learn to Crochet with Girlybunches - Episode 15 Crochet Stitches Terminology / Conversion Thanks for watching :D

Surely the point of these jug covers is to keep flies and bugs out of the jug..far too many holes in the crochet and would not keep any bugs out........disappointing.
