Thank you so much for these videos! My best friend is from a First Nations tribe and recently got back into beading, so I've been gifting her as much supplies as I can afford since I love her (and her husband) lots lol. I have no experience with native crafts and had no idea how any of this is done, so these videos gave me a really good idea of what I can gift her in the future. Even just bead colours, sizes, backing materials, etc. I've even bought a few small things for myself to try and am now even more impressed with how delicate and skillful you need to be to create such gorgeous pieces. Thanks so much again for sharing such wonderful resources, even for people outside of the beading art/craft space it's been so helpful!

Great tutorial. Easy to understand and follow, good camera angles and sound quality, lighting, etc. I have a question: What is the best way for attaching medallions to the vamps of buckskin moccasins? (Rather than beading right onto the leather.) Just center the medallion and stitch around, all the way through and be careful not to let the thread show?
@thewanderingbull9843
@thewanderingbull9843 Год назад
Hey! Thanks for watching! I would use a glovers needle and go through the medallion and into the moccasin. You could pinch the leather on the moccasin to go in and out in the same stitch since it would be difficult to sew inside the tow of the moccasin. Hope this helps!

@duanevigue1603
@duanevigue1603 4 года назад
Drawing out a geometric design helps. That way you can see how it will look roughly AND you can count beads as you go. You can also use an applique stitch and stitch the beads down as if you were actually drawing the design out.

Andy: Hello. I have more of a question than a comment. I just started buying from Wandering Bull a few days ago and I've been watching all the WB videos, now I have a question on the rosette? If I were to bead on the front of a buckskin bag, would I stitch "THROUGH" the buckskin, OR would I do a surface stitch? You know, the stitch where I only barely go through the surface of the Buckskin. I'm sure there's a proper term for that stitch, but I don't know what it is? Also, you list #11 beads as a good starting point in the description, but then you say you're using #10 beads. Why is that? I just ordered a bunch of #11 seed beads, now I'm concerned that those may be to small for me to work with? I have 4 vials of Delicas glass seed beads here that measure 1.7mm in diameter and they're microscopic. I thought #11's were about 2mm in diameter? That's very close to these and these are way too small for me. I had a stroke 9 years ago and my hands and fingers don't work quite like they used to. I tried beading right after my stroke with these, and found it to be waaaaay over my head dexterity wise? Now in my infinite stupidity, I'm going to try it again.:~)))) Thank you very much. God bless: Dave

Great video. I am wondering where you purchase your beads from and what they are called.

Hello Thank you for watching, The beads come from Wanderingbull.com and they are Czechoslovakian seed beads .

@@thewanderingbull9843 They are, Czech Seed Beads. Not Czechoslovakian. The Czech Republic (Czechia) and Slovakia are two separate countries now. Have been since 1993.

Hi, i have a question , how do you call this white paper, ( i know, it's no paper),what is it? I'm from Germany and We don't know it here. Would be verry nice, when you could tell me, the name of it. Thank you

Hello Thanks for watching! The paper is just any kind of paper you have to trace the circle. What you would bead on is Pellon which is an interfacing for sewing fabric. You can get at any fabric store here is the states.

How do you take out a mistake when your working with a double threaded needle? I had to cut my thread close to the needle, take out the mistake, rethread my needle with the attached thread so I could knot it off on the back and then start with a newly double strand needle to continue the pattern. I just wasn’t able to put the needle through the fabric to try to fix the mistake. Everyone shows how to do but none of the 100’s of videos I have watched shows how to correct a stitching mistake. I’m using that “Stiffy” material. I’m new to this. Please help!!! ❣️

Assuming you are past your mistake, go to the back side and cut the thread where the mistake is and pull the beads off the front side. Take new needle and thread and go up from the back and replace the beads you've removed. Replace the missing beads with the correct pattern of beads. You may need to go two beads before and two beads after to get it securely on the fabric. If you have any other questions just give us a call at 1-800-430-2855. Thanks for watching!!
