There were plenty of talent shows around that time, starting back in the 1950's with opportunity knocks. It wasn't until 1993 that it got huge with Stars in their eyes though.
Do be careful - reminiscing in an unhealthy way can make you feel that, videos/photos of days gone by can produce a melancholic effect. The smiles of yesterday can brighten the smile of today and tomorrow. Im speaking from experience.
Once went to a function in Blackpool. My wife and I were the only two people left in the room and having a dance. This guy came in, sat down and watched us for about 5 minutes...he shouted out that we danced like Frank and Peggy Spencer (think he meant Betty Spencer). It was Jeremy Beadle. God bless him.
I love reading the comments on all these old shows and things............We cant all be wrong and we all feel the same about years ago lol i wish we could all go back when it just felt like home.
mind fuck isn't it...late 80's didn't seem to end by 92... I would of been 5 and I do remember this good ol beadle, humor well ahead of its time.. and no doubt paved the way for prank
@@rachaeladams8059 No sorry don't have anymore. Just got lucky finding I recorded this years ago on an old VHS tape. Would like to see the wedding cake prank one. Not on You Tube at the moment though from what I can see.
TV was so much better back then Allso before social media ruined the world. When families would be families and sit together on a Saturday and Sunday night.
I like when watching these kind of nostalgia tv videos, the intro and ads get included. Feels more authentic for some reason. I literally just ate a twirl 😁
The bed shop prank was the very first episode of Beadle About I remember watching. I was only 4 years old in 1989 when it first aired, but I can remember it so well. Poor lad with the "Golightly Family" in that shop. Looked like they ate the whole menu of Greggs.
Life was ace back then, i remember the weeks’s TV line up. Brookside, Wogan, Birds of a Feather, In sickness and in heath, Duty Free, Only Fools, One Foot in the Grave, Keeping Up Appearances …….. much more
@@mafoomatty7494 Why would they? I mean, even if this mythical "brigade" actually existed, what would it have to do with Beadle's About? From what I can remember in me distant youth, the show was never sexist, racist, homophobic, or anything like that. It's almost like you're looking for reasons to be offended. Embrace the irony!
Great, I've finally got something decent to watch on tv tonight. I've just acquired the first two series of Beadle's About. Yippie, they just don't make telly like they used to.
I lived in Orpington for 30 years and remember the bed prank episode very well because I'm the guy with the bald patch walking away in the background @7:16. :>) Beadle spent his childhood nearby in St Paul's Cray.

Yeh the woke justice warriors. You have to get around them with cleverly phrased statements such as; some individuals weigh more than others😅 that's 100% woke proof
I loved these days and I made friends with my Jamaican friends that were fab always chatting about TV and having lots of fun on TV always laughter and lovely children's programs don't have TV NOW 4 YEARS
So it took until now for me to realise that these are all played out by actors!! All this time I thought it was real but that lady's terrible acting at the start just gave it away!!
The TV networks love reality shows because they get to make money out of the viewers who call those 09 numbers to cast votes. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire had people calling such a number to have a chance to get on the show thus raising the money for the prizes. Since then networks create shows that would involve people calling 09 numbers such as: Big Brother I'm A Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing The Voice Dancing On Ice X Factor Britain's Got Talent
Liked the ad's never seen them before . always only seen UTV .seen what the different was around the UK . And still remember watching it live on Ulster TV . 22" DECCA color after fixing it new Valves output PCL 508
Jeremy you were great. Rest in Peace amen . Shame you left us for eternity so young; nice to see the old ads in there as I thought you could not do that for rights or copy etc. in past or live broadcasts. my god can't you tell by the voice they are from a bygone era , anyone else noticed this in TV. programmes as well . Irishman Pat.
Hi Ben. You said you were getting a telescope to view the skies. They can be frustrating and even annoying with their narrow field of vision. I suggest that you get a descent pair of binoculars and sit outside on a dark Cornish night and let your eyes become accustomed to the night. Sit in a deckchair or some other comfy type of chair and just gaze at the majesty of the night sky. With of course a few lagers. Watch the satellites buzzing around. Watch the Moon, the moons of Jupiter, the constellations like Orion with his belt of stars. Just relax and forget any problems.
