Thank you, lots of good sound advice in this video to try. I was particularly interested in what you said about teaching "Heel" so the beagle nose is off the ground. Hi to Harvey 🐾
Jill W. Fox lmao they're a very difficult dog to have and train, in my opinion. they're so smart but they definitely take advantage of it and don't make the best decisions from it hahah however they are the most loving ever!! i've never had such a cuddly, loving dog before! 💖
@@SaroDogTraining Thank you for the tip, I will try to find more comfortable leashes for him!!! And I will try to follow some other tips in dog training from you!!!
@@SaroDogTraining Thanks Saro, I am in the same Sunny FB group as you, and wanted to stop by to support your channel! I do not have Beagles but love you explanation behind it. When people have an idea of what they need to do it makes the process much easier, and you gave great demonstration on how to do that👍
My beagle is a 3 year old rescue dog and was obese (31kg) when we got him. He is large a beagle and now weighs around 19kg with a little more to lose. We have had him for less then 6 months and are trying to train him. So far your advice has been fantastic. The problem we are having is that he is too food motivated and tries to eat everything in front of him. Do you have any suggestions to reduce his frenzy for eating and increase his obedience with food?
I don't think that dogs are food motivated. I believe some dogs love food more than others just like some humans who love food more than others. In this case, your beagle just has become obsessed with food. I believe this kind of dogs have had a hard time to get food when they were puppies so they became food sensitive. You can control and manage it and teach your dog to be more willing to be able to control its impulse control. I show how it is done in the following video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jYU2fsj6iqA.html
@@SaroDogTraining Thanks for the info! I have already starting using your tips and he is responding almost immediately. Im sure it will take time and practice for it to become normal. But its already having amazing results! Thanks for sharing.
Welcome!! How old is your beagle and what is its name? I just created a video series about raising and training (my own) beagle puppy, which you are welcome to get started to watch and work on them. Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8royd4vYGio.html
That is a cool name. I just want to invite you to check out my online puppy training course as well. You are going to love it. You also have 15 days to try it. sarodogtraining.com/store/courses/puppy-training-101/
Great video. I won’t dare to let my beagle go off leash because he’s not sterilised yet (he’s two), also his recall is not 100% yet. How to train him to respond 100% on recalling?
To work on the recall, please watch the following 2 videos. Watch this first: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwx9dRKfyDQ.html and for additional info watch this as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dWwxFRPCNho.html
Hello Saro! Thank you so much for all the videos! 😁 I also want know if you know where I can buy a Beagle here in Vancouver I am looking for one. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your feedback. I usually tend to do and recommend to adopt a dog or a beagle. Buying a beagle should be the last option. I adopted Harvey, my beagle. Also, you can check out beagle paws rescue: www.beaglepaws.com/ Since it is a very personal choice, I recommend to do a google search for breeders. There are few good ones on the island.
We had a beagle, it looks that my husband did a good job, he was driving me crazy but him took the time to train him walking without leash. One key is make him tired because they are full of energy.
Dear saro My Beagle is 3 month old. In One of your videos you mentioned that OFF leash your Beagle only if the perimeter is secured. My beagle live in a secured space where it cannot follow scent and just leave. Therefore I am lucky it that aspect. As mentioned in one your other video should I still keep him on leash until 1 year of his age. Thank You Regards Gopi krishna
In the beginning (the first year) the more you keep your dog on leash indoor and outdoor the batter. As the puppy grows up the less time can be spent on leash but it all depends on your wins or looses. If the puppy is doing well and is moldable easily, provide more freedom.
Dear saro I would like to know how much water should we feed puppy daily. (Age 14 weeks) I tied looking online but couldn’t find proper answer. I feed my Beagle only natural boiled meet with vegetables.
Hi. My beagle is 9months old. Iv been walking her on the leash since 5months old in the last 1.5 months iv been taking her on a walk EVERY night for 25mins. This past week she has been walking with the leash just dragging on the ground and doing much better then when I was holding the leash. Is this uncommon? And am I moving to fast to release leash?
I will highly suggest not to rush and have your beagle on leash for at least the first year. I know it is tempting but most animal parents do not let their young away from them for a long time. You can let your beagle drag the leash or go on a long leash after a year. If you think that your beagle is being good on leash walk that you get the feeling that it feels right to let her drag the leash, then focus on making the leash walk even better. Maybe watch the following video to get some additional tips. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VCGdk2DNbJ8.html
Not yet. Long leash happens when you and your puppy accomplish all the basic (obedience training) with a short leash. It usually takes few months. At least 6 months.
Hi Saro, my question will be a bit related to different topic but i cannot find a video from your collection that suit my question so I'll write here. I have two beagles, one male and one female, both from different parents. The boy did make the girl pregnant already and we want to leave one puppy from her first litter. I wonder if we leave a girl the fsther will try to impregnate her when she reach maturity and if we lesve a boy he will do the ssme to his mother. We dont want to castrate them or give medication so they cannot conceive. What is the best solution here?
I understand your concern regarding your two Beagles and their potential for further breeding. In such situations, it's essential to take responsible measures to prevent unplanned litters and ensure the well-being of your dogs. If you don't want to castrate them or use medication, consider these options: Supervision: Keep a close eye on the dogs when they are together. Separate them when you can't supervise their interactions to prevent mating. Spaying and Neutering: While you mentioned you prefer not to go this route, spaying the female and neutering the male is a highly effective way to prevent further breeding. It also offers health benefits to your dogs. Professional Advice: Consult with a veterinarian or a canine behaviorist to discuss your specific situation. They can provide guidance tailored to your dogs' behavior and needs. Behavioral Training: Consider working with a professional dog trainer who specializes in behavioral training. They may be able to modify your dogs' behavior to reduce mating attempts. Separate Living Arrangements: If possible, house the male and female separately. This can be a more practical solution to prevent further breeding. Remember that responsible pet ownership includes ensuring the welfare of your dogs and preventing unplanned litters, which can lead to overpopulation and strain on animal shelters. Consulting with a veterinarian or canine behavior expert can help you make the best decision for your unique situation.
Hi Saro, I walk my beagle outside my house so that he can pee and poop. He is only 3 months old, and on the first week I got him, he would poop and pee outside when I bring him outside. But i noticed that now whenever he goes outside, he seems scared of the environment and does not do it anymore. He would poop right away once we immediately get inside the house. Please help!
When you get back in the house, do you let it roam around freely? If yes, keep it on leash or under control (in a crate). If you see he is thinking of doing it, take it outside right away. Start the basic training of your puppy as well, so it will help him to gain confidence to help solve problems such as being outside and not being scared of things. Here is a video series that you can watch to learn how to train your puppy just like I train my puppy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8royd4vYGio.html
@@SaroDogTraining Thank you Saro. I watched the video and im learning a lot from it. Yes, i let it roam because she does not want to get leashed. She cries a lot when placed in a leash or crate. Her cries are defeaning. My puppy is a beagle and I dont know maybe this breed does not want to get leashed?? That is also my other problem. Please advise. I have other dog breeds previously like dachshund and even as a puppy they are ok with leashing and does not cry. Please advise why beagles are this way :( I know you have a beagle breed.
It's not a beagle behaviour. It's lack of socialization that causes the puppy not like the leash or the crate. Work on training your puppy to like the leash and the crate. For leash training, watch the following video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_DTr_97lFww.html And for the crate training watch the following video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z4A7Y6K5_o0.html

I kept getting told I was a cruel owner by certain people in our park for not letting Lord Bertram, Bertie to his friends!!! off lead, but I stuck to my guns and it paid off, I too used a long training line
I understand what you’re saying, but I have a question. “ What do you say/or do when the beagle pulls on the chain? “ Edit ; “I’m getting one in a few hours.” As I write this comment
Are you getting a beagle or a chain leash? I have several training videos about teaching a dog to not to pull on the leash which I am going to link here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WrrRkIWdOIw.html
@@SaroDogTraining Thanks! One more question, my beagle Olivia when is 6 weeks old going on 7. I have to give her more shots till I am able to walk her outside. When she is in her confined area she pees on the pee pad but when I let her Rome the apartment she's pees everywhere but the pee pad. What should I do?
The reason your beagle is running after your cat is because the cat has become its entertainment. Try providing more mental and physical stimulation for your beagle.
i need some help please reply saro the promb.lom is that my beagle was not on leash for his 1st year and in 1 month he is going to be 2 years old but he stays on leash most of the time because of the promblom he causes . so is it ok for a beagle to stay on lease in his second year ? please reply i really need help
You need to teach your beagle using training to understand and to know what to do when left alone. Leaving your beagle alone will cause stress. You need to train it wait command. Watch this video to understand the situation:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lJX9RB5sjGY.html and then watch these videos to learn how to teach wait command. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WHptv68h6kE.html Plus this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yviGby4o4wk.html
Meena Tushir mine is like this too. i dont know if there is any way to fully control them because they have their own opinions and don't ever make the best decisions. they are very naughty and unpredictable but probably one of the most loving i've ever had! 💖
I am sorry if you feel that way. 60% to 70% of dog training is the dog owner training and the dog will only get trained if the dog owner is educated. You mean you didn't benefit any from all the information I shared in the video?
