Today, we invite you to "fla-mingle" with our flamboyance of Chilean flamingos!
The park is currently home to (4) flamingos that arrived as chicks in Fall of 2018! They were cared for around the clock, hand-rearing them from gray puff balls to the beautiful pink birds we now know so well - each with their own personality!
Their pink coloration comes in time, with age and consumption!
Carotenoids in crustaceans, after being digested, the pigments dissolve in fats and are deposited in the growing feathers, becoming orange or pink.
Pinky, Coral, Rose & Rouge will move to a new exhibit this year in our South American Waterway! We can't wait to share with you the new space and beautiful water features sponsored by The Pond Guy!
