Bear Lake, Utah: Overnight Stop and Sticker Update

We stopped off in Garden City Utah for an overnight stay at the local KOA there next to Bear Lake. We update the sticker collection on the Kodiak and give a peak at one of the nicest KOA's we've been too. This would make a nice spot to camp for a while but we had only scheduled to be here one night.

Wow, a Lake named after me 😋 In 1971 was working on the Jim Brigger Power House in RockSprings Woymimg. Not much to do there for a Tx boy 😜

Gotta hit Michigan. Upper half lower peninsula and all the upper peninsula. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Soo Locks, Mackinaw Island, Tequaminan Falls, Copper Harbor, Hancock and the Copper Mines.

Adam I gotta tell you, the Grand Tetons were named by the French explorers, les trios Teton or ‘the three teats’ the word Teton is French for teat. Like me I think those guys were fans.

You should try Dinosaur Valley State Park in Texas. Some of the oldest dinosaur foot prints in the world are said to be there. When our daughter was about 8 we got pictures of her swimming in the toe print of a dinosaur foot print.

My aunt and uncle live in Spokane so when we took our Amtrak ride to Seattle in Oct we drove out to see them. They took us to Idaho to see a Mission, it's the oldest building in Idaho, really neat. And then Snake Pit Restaurant. Oldest restaurant still in operation in Idaho. Such a beautiful state. Also, curious how your stickers from last year are holding up? We bought trail stickers for the trails we did last year and some of them started cracking and peeling within 6 months. Very disappointing.

If you are coming down US 40 into CO after Dinosaur I have a 127 year old 10k lb 16' lathe I recently acquired, that you might enjoy seeing. I'm 2 miles off of 40, west of Steamboat Springs, CO. Really enjoying your travel adventures, and thanks for sharing. Cheers, Mike

Did I miss Montana? I'm a faithful subscriber. I've been following you since last summer. You had just left the KOA Campground in Wellington Kansas and headed towards Wichita. I live 20 miles from Wellington. Next time your in Kansas drive the Flint Hills. It's so beautiful! My husband and I enjoy your travels and cooking. Safe travels!
