I've had the Bear Whitetail Maxx in for testing for the past couple of months and now it's time for my long-term review.
This is the sixth of eight hunting bow reviews, which will be followed by a shootout where I pick my favorite bow of the year.

The fact that it compares pretty favorably to the high dollar bows for half the price is proof in my mind that the high end bows are extremely over priced and customers are being taken advantage of.

In terms of performance, it absolutely competes with flagship bows. The difference is in the details. Flagship bows will have much better fit and finish, and possibly better quality components.

Great job again Lucas! Bear has been doing some really good things . Last year i was impresed with the Adapt!

Good & accurate assessment of this bow. It was impressive to shoot. I personally struggled not buying it for my new bow this year. I retired an older Martin. I preferred the Alaskan XT over the Maxx mainly due to the draw cycle and balance. But if I was 10 years younger and stronger I may have chosen the Maxx.

Solid bow, but I went with the Darton Consequence as the top budget bow in my review.

My mission switch does the same thing- the top can fall back towards me once I shoot. I’m wonder if it’s a grip thing and I’m also wondering if my grip is why my arrows are so inconsistent and my bow pisses me off. Just need to sell and go back to bear

The fact that this bow is listed on their website at $600 means one thing: the word "budget" is as relative as it gets. 😂

@@chief5981 I bought from a pawn shop and it’s been inspected and I have my sel shot over 1000 plus arrows from it and it’s perfect so sorry bud your wrong about your info
