It is important to remember that the human body is not perfectly symmetrical. The hair on your face is no exception. It is perfectly normal for one side of your beard to grow faster, thicker and lay better than the other side.
Chances are you are the only one who notices that one side grows faster or thicker than the other as we are our own worst critics. But, if it really bothers you, you can let it get to your desired length and trim and shape the beard to make it more symmetrical.
I hope this video helps if you're a little self conscious that one side of your beard grows a little better than the other, you are definitely NOT alone!

@@rajveergiri3106 I've been shaving everything besides the mustache. When it does grow out it's symmetrical, just different thickness on the chin. My dad said he didn't have a full one until 28 so I still have a few more years lol 😅 Thanks for asking!

Beard Booze I have that problem. Usually when that happens,I would shave it off,just keep the mustache and now I think you was saying just keep growing a beard? Then what? Make it symmetrical?

Randy.... Excellent video as usual. I also notice that my beard growth is a little faster and heavier on my right side and even the growth pattern is different. Maybe because I'm right handed and so right side dominant. Just as you said.... I'm the only one that really notices. The differences between sides are in millimetres and you should resist the urge to try to even them out and end up screwing up your entire beard. If you feel you must... Then go very very slowly and take off less then it appears you should....and stop yourself before you overdo. Beard on!!!

You may be on to something I'm left handed and my left side grows a good .5 in or more longer than right if I don't trim it to match.

It drives me crazy while I’m laying down in bed playing with my beard and feeling how thick it is on one side…man that didn’t sound right lol but you know what I mean..right?

Started my beard journey a few weeks ago. It’s at that ugly awkward stage. My left side grows thicker and longer than my right. My right side is slacking hard, I know that if I keep growing it, the other side will eventually grow, but right now it’s a downer lol

Alexander Cassinos yeah it can definitely be discouraging my man. I’d give it some time and if it’s still growing that way, go to a good beard barber and get it evened up some. You’ll feel a lot better about it and it should grow more evenly from that point. But chances are you’re the only one that notices. Thanks for watching!

My beard hair curls inward at my chin on the right side and outward on the left, pretty much split equally right down the middle.

I honestly want to thank you for this, because I like to wear my beard at two months, but it starts to look a little thicker on one side than the other. And as a result I feel self-conscious about it, as I want to look the very best I can in all situations. Besides you never know who might run into - If you know what I mean. Anyway, thank you, you really helped me to feel better about it. It gives me the confidence to wear it the way I do, and not feel bad about it.

Pretty sure its to do with what side you sleep on, that side is then 'protected' for 6-8h so it doesnt grow as much

I'm kind of embarrassed while my left side of my face has a few hairs, and my right side has considerably more. so I have to keep them always shaved. I'm 21 by the way.. do you think it's going to even itself in time ?

Robert Roby yes definitely, 21 is very young for a beard. Beards usually continue to improve into your 30s and even 40s and 50s. If you give it enough time now I’m sure with time and length it will become more even. Thanks for the question and for watching!

Can I ask a question.. Is it normal for the hair on your head to grow thicker one side ? My Left side grows quite a bit quicker than the right side is this normal?

Yes, I would say that's very normal. Most people have a "good" side when it comes to their hair.

for me it seems noticeable if i take a picture turning my head to the side. but if i stand parallel , away from a mirror, it seems to be more even.

@@tgrjds i have a short/medium length beard now. i think its nicer, it seems to grow out more even. i think one side is slightly thinner, but iseems worse cuz there is more gray and its not as dark as theother side. hope that answers your question, not quite sure the context of my original comment anymore

Jacob Sauer yes, it absolutely will. As the hair gets longer, it's own weight starts to help it hang straighter and lay more evenly.

That would be my suggestion, and if it's still noticeable uneven at that point you will have the length to have it trimmed and evened out nicely. I hope that helps!

captainrobots sometimes it's more noticeable than others! A lot of times it will correct itself. If it doesn't just grow it out past you're desired length and a nice trim will even it out. Thanks for watching!

My beard is completely screwed up. It grows in longer & thicker on the right side of my face than my left. And then I have what everyone describes as a "bald spot" right in the middle of my chin. Doesn't matter how often I shave, it just doesn't grow in like I want it too.

J.J his religion doesn't allow him to cut his facial hair and he isn't able to cut any other thing from his body either, because those are the gifts of God to him, cutting it would be like a rejection to the gift.....well I am not from his religion, but I hope that's the right explanation, at least that's what I heard
