Maine Wildlife Trail Video week ending 4.23.22. A weekly videos series of Maine wildlife travelling naturally along woods roads and game trails located behind my house in Penobscot County, Maine. Because the videos are collected and posted each week of the calendar year, they not only capture the biological changes to the wildlife they also capture the daily and seasonal changes to the environment. Be part of the Maine outdoors with Maine Wildlife Trail Videos.
The videos are collected from 12 fixed trail cameras (Browning Recon Force Advantage 20MP 1080p FHD Trail Camera, 120' IR Range). Wildlife generally consist of whitetail deer, black bear, moose, bobcat, coyote, turkey, raccoon, porcupine, and rabbit.

Feeding the little birds! Too cute. How'd you train them?
@MaineWildlifeTrailVideos

I have a swing in the middle of the woods facing a meadow. This is the view you see at the beginning of each video. I placed a bird feeder at the swing and the birds began to use it even when I was using the swing. Unfortunately, the feeder attracted the bears so I had to remove the feeder. However, I started bringing seeds with me when I sat at the swing. I would hold my hand out with seeds and the birds eventually got up the courage to land in my hand. Now that they are use to me they will follow me throughout the woods or come when I whistle or call them.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I was really surprised how fat the bear was for April. It's going to be a big one. I am guessing it is the big sow we have seen for the past few years.

Wow another nice video. That was incredible how you got the birds to eat from your hand.

It's fun feeding the chickadees and nuthatches. It took a while for them to get use to me but they don't seem to be bothered by me now.

This was one of your best videos, less deer and more of the other wild life in the area! Thanks for another fun video! Anyone move into the box yet? Have a great week!

Hi Tom, thanks for watching. I have a pond/stream on my property that usually has a pair of geese each year raising a little one. It also attracts mallards. I'll take one of the cameras and place it at the pond to give you some more variety.

Did you notice how skittish the deer were? They were on edge. Something is hunting them.... bears, coyotes, bobcats?
@MaineWildlifeTrailVideos
@MaineWildlifeTrailVideos 2 года назад
They are very aware of everything around them. Thankfully that keeps them safe. The coyotes and bobcats are usually their biggest threats.

Thanks for watching. I thought I was safe to hang my bird feeder but I was wrong. We had a young bear come in at 8:30 am , daylight, and hit the feeder.

Do you think that BEAR is the little guy from last year
@MaineWildlifeTrailVideos
@MaineWildlifeTrailVideos 2 года назад
I am thinking this bear is the big sow from last summer. The little guy has a patch of white on his chest. He was a real pain in the but last year. He wouldn't leave the cameras, swing, and some plants alone. I am guessing we will be seeing him again.

I’m a woodsman an Hunter as well., Great wildlife photos, the turkeys look great but I did not see one Buck, maybe set up the deer cam off road deeper where they’re walking through you’ll get a Lotta good shots both ways,

Thanks for watching. If you haven't had a chance, check out the late spring, summer and fall videos from 2021. Tons of buck activity. I don't see alot of activity from the bucks in the winter and early spring. We should be seeing them soon. I post a new video each week featuring the previous week's wildlife activity.
