Bert, you don't have bad anxiety. You're having withdrawals. You realize this every Sober October that your anxiety is mostly gone and suddenly get amnesia November 1st for the next 11 months.
Why does this one feel extra scary though? Like I’m sure there’s got to be serious discussions about his mental health and alcoholism in his social circle. The Neal Brennan Blocks episode is bananas.
He definitely does have bad anxiety, he had it well before he started drinking. Severe anxiety is a common trait of Alcoholics, because alcohol does numb your anxiety, particularly the physical symptoms of anxiety, because alcohol is a nervous system depressant.
@@mrfungaltoe I thought I was the only one starting to feel this way. Bert is fucking insufferable lately. Holy fuck, dude needs to listen to himself for 5 minutes man. Sheesh.
When Tim is actually trying to relay a genuine experience and Bret cuts him off. 😡 You can hear Tim raise his volume to try and keep the story going, but then Burnt just gets LOUDER. Thom has the patience of a saint I swear.
He’s used to dealing with his two little boys so burnt shows up and he’s like “I’ve seen this before” 😂 I’ve never been such a big fan of someone while also wanting them to shut up all the time. Both legends
yep, i like Bert but because of this i can listen to about 4 podcasts before i need a break for few weeks. The chemistry and friendship does make this pod elite tho
@@benjaminlarsen578 Normally I’m on board with the Bart hate, it’s a fun joke that’s half serious, but this one seems a bit undue. If they want to do something active together outside together I’m all for it, seemed like a nice friend moment
My favorite is when he interrupts as Tom is doing a list with a point, and then interrupts himself with two tangents to blurt out before the original interruption.
lol i've been thinking this! He likes nice clothes but since he is in shape he no longer looks like a interesting guy with nice clothes. He looks like a banker or a stock broker nowadays
Whenever Burt talks about his drinking and how he feels, the questions he ponders on, the new habits he forms… it reminds me to the T of my last 5 years drinking… I’ve been sober 5 years now, and I gotta say that all those things he says he wants, the inner-peace, health benefits… you will get them in spades. And the fear of changing into someone else, well… yeah, you change a bit. But after one year sober you truly laugh at how you were so hung up on changing from the drunken embarrassment you used to be 🤣. The change sometimes isn’t bad at all but truly awesome. Not preaching here, just wanted to share that. I love to party… a lot. So much. But it doesn’t have to be part of who you are. For everyone else that continues to drink and party, go for it! It’s a personal choice and I have no problems with it.
Congrats on your self awareness. It's an interesting thing as you were aware enough to stop but the booze made it feel insurmountable. And if you FEEL like you can't do something, you'll never do it. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I'm not some mind over matter idiot, I understand addiction and human nature to some degree and it's obviously way more complex. But I think that fundamentally, it HAS to just be a CHOICE. Whether we actually have free will or not, we have enough of an illusion that we might as well act as if we do. Sometimes, one philosophy should just be that which gets you and your loved ones through life in the safest, and most positive manner.
Seeing Tom express how seeing his dad have a terrible diet which contributed a lot to his death and made him feel, makes me respect his transformation even more! Keep going Tommy
I go eeling every spring. And I stand in rushing water cold water, the feeling I get from doing this is amazing, I feel like it’s sucha serene feeling. The powerful ocean ❤️
@@nckfrmthapnw Dr. Drew always complains about the failure of the national or state-level mental health care system. Yet he stands aside and watches the Bert shit show unfold, which will ultimately lead to his demise. I do have respect for the man, but Pinsky is an utter hypocritical fraud until he really steps in to help Bert. This comment won't even reach his eyes, and shouldn't need to. The whole situation makes me really sad. It's like a junior high school cool kids club where everyone is friends with the guy on the lowest rung. Instead of lifting him up, they enjoy his foibles and struggles for their own benefit. It's really really very sad when fans, people who are complete strangers to Bert are starting to speak up with grave concern, all while his closest friends, one of whom is a FUCKING DOCTOR WHO HAS DEALT WITH CELEBRITY ADDICTION, just stand aside in amusement while their friend slowly kills himself. All of you, including LeeAnn, need to step the fuck up and do the things that we internet nobodies can't. His blood will be on your hands sooner than you think. FUCKING DO SOMETHING! Every goddamned week fans reach out with their concerns (and complaints). Yet Bert's inner circle does NOTHING. FUCKING DO SOMETHING!
That's the tough part, because technically an alcoholic is addicted and dependent. Dude can stop cold turkey for sober October, so he's obviously not dependent. It's even worse that he makes the choice to drink as much as he does. 🤣
Tom's recommending Bert get a top tier nutritionist to go on the road with him, and Bert's over here with a traveling bar Tender. Two different levels. HAHA
I've been sober since February 18 2020 because of me not wanting to be like Bert and me not wanting to interrupt people more and be annoying. Thanks 2 Bears!
Dude, I’m sorry I like Burt but honestly With the amount of work you say you’re putting into the gym isn’t showing is this because your alcohol intake and possible bad lifestyle with food or are you just not on a every day regiment?
He's literally getting worse. I THINK he's been finding a wider audience and that increased fame has been inflating his childish narcissistic ego. Here's to hoping his popularity bubble pops soon because I know for sure I'm not the only one who loathes him
If Bert is 38-inch waste, I'm going to eat my tape measure! I worked in tailoring for a decade in London and he's as unaware of his size as most of the chaps looked after 😂
I love Bert for understanding that FL people just 'get' each other, lol. As someone who went to school at UF shortly after Bert's days in Tally, I feel this, lol.
Tom honestly really does inspie me. His health, his business, his outlook - it's admirable. I can't say he's the only person who has inspired me, but he's definitely one of them.
Listening to Bert go on his love of drinking rants and how he wishes he could be better is getting so old. Been listening to 2 Bears 1 Cave since it’s inception and it’s just getting to be the same conversation about alcohol when they are together.
to burt and tom i doubt you two ever read these, but you two are the highlight of my bad weeks lately, i swear your podcast is one of the few things getting me thru the week still, keep it up, your both amazing.
You know sometimes I wake up and think it’s just another day. And I humbly proceed through my morning routine. I get ready for work thinking it will be just another day of melancholy monotony. And then I check RU-vid to put on a podcast but what do I find find? A glowing burst of euphoria as I stumble upon a new episode of two bears one cave. And I know ima have a funny entertaining day. And this is a treat I get every Monday and it’s amazing.
I still get a lot of old your moms house and 2 bears podcast in my recommended its genuinely insane to see Tom getting in such good shape for his Hannibal Lecter role.
I wish tim and Bret would look back at the old episodes when they were funny. Now they just pontificate about how great they are. Boring. I always try to tune in but can never get through 5 mins. Same has happen to wmma. Shame they lost thier funny.
I literally came to the comments to say that. I listen to a lot of the old podcasts just because I go on binges sometimes, I about lost my jaw when Tom said 205. He looks fucking amazing and would murder a hannibal role rn lol
@@silverback3926 It seems like they're just a podcast of people who recently Ascended a Whole Class (from middle to Wealthy) and are so delighted with all the cool stuff they can do and how they feel about it LOL And to release their petty personality traits in stories.
Tom, I totally get your weight loss journey. I went from 330 pounds down to 195. Kept the weight off for 14 years now and at 36 I feel amazing man. My biggest motivator to never go backwards was my father. When I lost all the weight, I decided to get all new clothes to celebrate I could finally shop for clothes at normal stores with normal sizes. After I bought all new clothes, my dad said “what are you doing with your old clothes?” I said to him that I was donating them because they don’t fit any more. His reply was “well why don’t you keep some just in case?” And I said “just in case what? I’m never gaining this weight back again.” It had thoroughly pissed me off in a way that motivated me to keep prove him wrong. Knowing who he is, I know he didn’t mean it the way he said it, but rather than let that phrase take the wind out of my sails I used it for motivation. Keep up your good work man, I’m proud of your progress.
I was just thinking the same thing. It’s easy to separate from Tom’s normal podcast. But when Bert has a guest “bear”, what differentiates it from his regular podcast?
Man Tim has been on tour in Australia, we’re easily going to get like two months worth of banked, shilled YMH Bertcasts. On the bright side, we know they definitely recorded 20 more episodes the same day as this one and just changed outfits so we’ll see Tim for a little bit longer but those dark days and Bretts man cave that echoes that horrific screech are upon us. Brace yourself.
After seeing Bert cry about wanting to be liked, and remembered as the life of the party really made this podcast less funny...Man's got a problem and I think Tom needs to separate himself from it like Burr.
As a 49 year old that has been surfing since age 9, I have to say listening to you guys with your genuine "Stoke" for the sport as beginners, makes me smile! Welcome to the wonderful world of surfing guys! 🤙
@@auroraborealis13579 That's actually pretty normal. Many times we neglect to appreciate or even notice the beauty around us and the possibilities that exist for some of us, how lucky we are. Noticing it at some point is important, acting on it is crucial. 🤙
I do wish we had a podcast that was more Tom. Ymh is good but it’s not Tom and this is all about Bert but in this podcast Tom tries sometimes to go in depth on his thoughts and idea in a way he doesn’t anywhere else but then gets steam rolled by Bert before he can finish. Every episode is Tom “I have a thought” Bert “hold on, I need to talk about how awesome I think I am, or how enlightened I think I am, or how special I feel I am”
Bert just said something that was interesting, “tables make him check out of conversations” I wonder if that’s why he constantly cuts Tom off cause he checks out and then thinks of other stuff and shouts it out right away 😂.
Holy shit.. Tom's explanation of carrying things inside and not putting something down to open the door, SPOKE to me. That's me to a T.. I'll work on it lol
Not sure if it's posted below, 2 many comments to ck but the title to the surfing adventure pitch could be "Two Bears One Wave"....so perfect! Thanks for the laughs!
Hes probably out gambling his paycheck away. I heard tom say he lost 20 grand gambling and I'm sure it was navad or with navad. Making all this money with there success easy come easy go. Nothing like a rich guy gambling and losing everything. Idiots
born in '72. Tom fan. watched/listened to the Bert & Tony Hawk cast. never really was part of the skateboarding world, but always mad respect for T-Hawk. to be honest, never really a fan of the Machine. surprisingly enjoyed that whole cast. new respect for Bert, totally fooled with the whole Tom/Tony surfing setup. created a future classic. i'm poor. not fat poor, though when i was a bartender, i was, still am, a firm believer in a 2oz pour. regardless, enjoy Tom sharing his success through stories. besides Tom not getting the chance to actually complete his Hawaiian vacation story as obviously Bert just wanted to use it for a surfing ideas segue, great episode! Bert inspired by his friend Tom's example is one thing. Tom opening up about his change in thought process, for me, is truly inspiring. props to Bert for acknowledging his success due to Tom's influence! hoping Bert's movie combined with the efforts of people such as Joe Rogan, Dave Chappelle, Jordan B Peterson, of this woke shit will #GrowTheFuckUp! it will be nice to have more comedy the likes of which i grew up on. comedy that by calling out truths joined people together, inspired Ralphie May to say it like it is, making jokes using words to take the power out of them to lessen the PC mindset of labels. that's how society grew to become "progressive" which inadvertently gave rise to "woke" ignorance. labels increase diversity. equality only works when applied across the board to everybody. the blindness of pride doesn't see how acceptance is blind to labels without thought as to race, gender, or sex even as to hate. society grew to be "progressive" through people accepting everybody else as people. not by people telling other people what they can't say or how they should think. we went from letting small minded people choose to be idiots to idiots thinking that they aren't small minded. anyways, enjoyed the cast 2 bears! ✌️🐝➕️ i know, i type/talk too much. ✌️🐝➕️
Tom is right, tailor measured suits are solid af ✊️. Once you get to choose all the 150 variations and build your own fit and personal suit, theres no more buying straight from the shop 🤙
I love these guys as comics and podcasters. I could not give any less of a shit about where they like to vacation and what they like to do in their free time, and how we all should apply that to our lives too lol congrats fellas, but that's cool guy shit
Bert is a narcissistic alcoholic who lacks any and all self-awareness, it's just who he is, honestly befuddled that Tom still puts up with it cuz ppl clearly don't like it, episodes that are just Tom do significantly better than ones with Bert
@@PhartGod same for sure, the thing I'm noticing too is that over time Bert and Tom seem to be becoming 2 very different ppl, Toms wellness journey and having kids have changed him, as to where Bert is just being Bert more and more
Tom is looking better and better with each episode! Bert is...still Bert. He still is looking for any reason to have a drink even though he keeps saying he isn't drinking as much. He's clearly lying, which is really sad! He knows he needs to go to rehab but doesn't want to stop partying. Abuses alcohol, weed, Xanax and food. Tom is extremely patient with him, especially when he interrupts him which is multiple times per episode. When Bert takes that first sip, it's like an addict getting their fix, so sad! Such a waste!
I watch one or two of these a day on the weekend. I was watching old ones thinking maybe the guys at the computers would learn how to Google shit. Good to know somethings never change.
